what is the big difference in the two conversions kits becids the fact that the one on overtons is fifty dollars more? I am looking to comvert my boat over to EI because i just found out that the points are burnt to hell so it is either I replace the points or convert. Everyone i have talked to says to convert it. It is an 1988 prostar 190 with a 351 w with a malory distributer. Any thoughts on which one is better? Thanks for any help

It works perfectly. However the instructions that come with it are all but useless. There is a nice PDF file here somewhere on the forum (look in East TX Skier's sig line for info and FAQs as it may be linked there). Those instructions are just what the doctor ordered. If you don't find it, I have it stashed on my drive and can e-mail it to you.

Skidim. Done deal. Best $100 (back when) I have spent on a boat. I have converted several engines. A great upgrade.

I like others used the Prestolite conversion here, http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=RP173072 and the tutorial in the FAQ helps dramatically here,
