That ProStar makes a pretty good wakeboarding boat if set up right. A tower or extended pylon and some ballast bags, and it's definately all the wake a beginner needs.

The prostar would be better. Speed control would be the biggest advantage for the prostar over the baja, IMO. As he progresses, adding a fat sack (or lots of people) will get that wake noticably bigger.

I have a 1990 190 pro. For Boarding I use 6 25 ltr drums at the back (take out the rear seat). 2 or 3 drums each side of the engine and some heavy stuff under the bow, Wake is Great.
I have a fat sac but filling/emptying it is a big hassle, its actually easier and faster to fill the drums and no strain on the battery. Of course if you have a few buddies in the boat all the better, But you do need Weight to board on the 190.

Ditto on the 190. Throw in a few fatsacks and your good to go.
