Purchased a 1997 Prostar 205 LT1 (pre-owned) that needs shaft attention. Really didn't know at the time of purchase this was a maintenance item. That being said I'm somewhat mechanical and would like the water to go away. Done some searching on the threads and most people appear to have installed the PSS opposed to the OJ Dripless. Is this for a reason has anyone done the OJ Dripless it appears to be less expensive...is there a reason. Lastly what size is the shaft 1" or 1 1/4". Thanks Tom

If you have a PowerSlot transmission 1:5 to 1, it's a 1 1/8" shaft and if a std transmission, its a 1" shaft. Tag on top of the transmission will tell the ratio.
If you don't want to install a dripless shaft seal, you can follow this tutorial, http://mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showpost.php?p=159060&postcount=31

Thanks I'll keep this in mind if a dripless is not installed. Really would like to keep water out of the boat away from the wire bundles etc...

I have had the OJ installed for a couple of years. Very pleased. Was easy to install, not a drop of water, and shaft runs smooth without any drag.
