82 Stars and Stripes

I need as many photos as I can find to decide on how I want to do my interior. I would like to keep it as close to original as possible, but I don't even know what that is like. If anyone has photos of an 82 Stars and Stripes boat and wouldn't mind sharing photos I would really appreciate it. Thanks for the suggestions !!

when I redid my 83 I left it pretty much stock except for back seat. I had 3 individual cushions made for the seat. I leave the middle one out so skier can step in or out onto platform without ruining seat. It leaves 2 seats in the back instead of 3 but its better than taking seat completly out. I would like to say it was my idea but back in 1989 my american skier advance had the same setup. I must say I'm very very happy with it.

Great looking boat, that is exactly like mine, as far as the dash with the box w lid and mirror, that really find useless, it doesn't work that well for me ! I noticed that your engine cal has a vent in the back and so does "justinglow" who sent photos of his boat and was wondering if that was added or you new why my boat doesn't have it .

Here is my 79. Probably not what you're looking for, but it's something else to look at. I actually cut the radio into my dash just to the left of the mirror (gets it out of the way).

The vent in the rear of the engine cover was added in mid 82. The smaller engine box created some problems with trapped heat and vapor lock.

Mine was added by the dealer before I took it home as a recall.

The combo glovebox/mirror is useless, but looks kind of cool. Any dash mounted mirror is useless.

My vents were added by the dealer after the fact as well, so as far as I am going to call it original.

I wanted to keep the look very similar to stock as well on my 84. I did add the MC logo embrodered into the vynal on the pull up front cushion and the rear seat, as well as a different shaped stripe running thru the engine cover. Also added a pocket behind the capt. seat. The guy actually double stiched the fabric vs the Heat method used on the 84 to look like double stiching. Added some chrome, and blue diamond carpet for the floor, and plus for the sides.

The new materials are fantastic. This guy also did a custom boat cover for me. He was not cheap, but well worth it in my mind. Make sure you find someone who will listen but also have creative ideas as well. Let me know if you want more detailed info. I acn email it too you.

Sorry the pic are fuzzy. Took with very high res but had to create less clear copies for this site.

No, I found it from a refferal here on Team Talk. I thought since I chromed the pylon, and throttle cover, I may as well change this as well. I can find out where I got it if interested. Lost my bow air vent cover last year, and speaking with Jim at Viper custom. ( another find on TT)He has made a custom metal one before.

I have the same problem, my cowl vent is about to fall off, and my ABS bow vent cover is trashed. when i get a chance i can ping Jim and see what he can offer.

was the engine cowl vent a standard part?

It's definitely a nice feature. My center-rear cushion flips over and makes a step. Of course, some people still insist on stepping on one of the cushions.

Forgive the competing brand picture. Not promoting. It's on topic for useful rear seat designs.

5150Taxi,
I like what you did with your interior. I have the same boat and the red piping sets it off. I noticed your speaker placement, did you fabricate the boxes? If so, could you PM me on how you did it and what the dimensions are?
