I bought a new to me '99 MariStar 210VRS with what I assume is an LTR late last year. The few times I had it in the water everything was fine. I winterized it myself with no problems as far as I could tell. Now this year the temps seem to be running high, around 170-180 on average.

I changed out the impeller before starting this season, but just pulled it to check anyway, it looks fine. I flushed the transmission cooler and there were no debris in there. I back fed the inlet on the bottom of the boat and it is fine.

Where do I look next? Can the thermostat be stuck? I'm stumped.

I have an older boat but, 170 - 180 doesn't sound that warm. If there were a 180 degree thermostat installed, that would seem to be normal.

Pull your thermostat and see if that makes a difference. Yes, it can be stuck

I bought a new to me 87 PS last year and it was running in the 180's too. When I pulled the thermostat to winterize it I saw that the previous owner had put in a 180* stat. I ran it without one the first time out this year without any issues until my replacement (143*)got here from Skidim.
