Help....Does anyone have a recommendation of a nice lake for a week vacation of wakeboarding. I live near Annapolis Md. and would like to keep it to a 6-8hr max drive each way. Having the option of keeping the boat (docked) in the water would be a nice feature. Also, it would be ideal if there was a wakeboard contest that my very experienced sons could enter. Anyone know of any books/mags that have this info? Thanks for any advice...

Smith Mountian Lake in southern Virginia is nice and inexpensive! Google it.

+1 for Smith Mt lake........we've been going there for the last 2 years.
check www.lakehouse.com for rentals or www.vrbo.com

For contests try www.lakeannabuzz.com for info around Lake Anna (another nice lake to spend a week on, especially weekdays.) Lake Anna also has a private side where the water is heated by the nuclear power plant. Less boat traffic on that side.

You bringing that xstar up here to NJ for this: www.njwakefest.com?

+2 for Smith Mt. Lake. I've never been but have some good friends who've been a few times and loved it. Kerr Lake is another good choice (we used to go there every year). It's bigger, but has fewer options for lodging and it's further south - on the NC border.
