Get this, just pulled my 2008 X-2 out of winter storage, so I start the cleaning process. Then I notice a huge crack in the back of the sub. The sub. is a write off now. Not to happy. Just wondering if anyone had ever come across this and would it be covered under warranty? Thanks!

I would check with the dealer and see if it's covered. On a side note I took my Stock JL sub and put it in a ported box, back in the stock location and WoW what a diffrence it made. I am very, very happy with it now!!!!!! Just a thought.

Not to highjack this thread, but do you have any pictures of how you ported the sub? I would love to see that.

I faced the port on the box to fire out the hole for the stock location of the Sub. Then just placed the speaker grill back on as to look like nothing has changed. All in all it cost me $89 for the box and thats it.............!

the sub should be a warranty replacement (if less than 1 yr), and you can provide that it wasnt overpowered, or operated beyond the warranty conditions. I suspect your setup is stock so you should be golden.
Knox, I too would like to see more on your swap to a ported box for the stock sub.
Thanks.
