View Full Version : Goode 9500 Vs. Goode 9600

I'm in the process of buying a new ski, and I've narrowed down my serach to the either a 2005 Goode 9600 or a no-longer produced, 2004 Goode 9500.
They both are known as great skis, but I'm curious if the claimed performance gains of the new model (9600) is enough to justify my spending of the $100 difference in the list price. Is there anyone out there who has skied on both, and may be able to offer an unbiased opinion? Thanks!

Pete, sounds like they gave you some of the Goode Kool-Aid Sunday putting the course in! Easily done there! I thought they were still making both of them though? The 9500 is still listed on the website. I'm going to get a new ski as well - until recently there were no alternatives to a Goode but now there's at least the 6AM and the Monza that are worth a shot. If we can get some consistency in the weather I hope to demo those two and a 9600 soon. In comparison to past Goode models there doesn't seem to be alot of feedback out there on the 9600. Lots about the 6AM and Monza so I take it to mean there are alot of skiers glad there are other options in town now.
If you decide to go 9500, check around the used sites. I know there are a couple for sale locally.

The 9600 is rated in May WSM . The weight is amazing for this ski.

I absolutely LOVE my Goode and wouldn't trade it for the world. My piece of cr@p boots though are another story! Wish I would have known about Wileys back when I bought the ski.

Yeah don't get me wrong, I love my Goode too. It's just getting a little beat up. Time for a new excuse, that's all...

I did take a good sip of the Goode juice, Geoff, and I must admit I was hooked immediately!
You can still buy both the 9600 and the 9500, and the list prices are $990 & $890 respectively. I spoke with a Goode rep yesterday and he stated that they are no longer manufacturing the 9500, but they still have a full inventory of the skis available.
I may go the used route on the 9500, since financing the new purchase will be an issue. Good idea! Also, everyone seems to really like the 9500 and I'm having a hard time getting comparitive feedback on the two different models. Seems like the 9500 would be a tried and true ski to buy. Which model do you have?
Jimmer, it sounds as if the Wiley boots nice? What do you like about them?
