I am on a new A1 with Approaches and my feet hurt really bad after about 3 to 4 passes, I have heard rumors that HO is releasing hard shell bindings at the end of the summer. has anyone heard or seen these? I have a contact at HO but he is staying pretty quite about it.

Read the same thing on differents ski forums but don't know more.
Will it be a full ridgid hardshell or the "RS1 style" binding? Who knows?
Buy your insider a couples of beer and what you can get out of him...:)

I talked to him last night. He skied on them last week and said that they will be a full hard shell but unlike any other one on the market. He said that there have been some broken ankles with the RS-1's so they are trying to avoid that. he told me that I should see them in early August. He said they have been working on them for over 3 years, and designed them to go along with the A1 and S1, so they should be sweet.

true, he does work for HO so I am sure he is a little biased. I have never tried anything besides my Approaches so I really do not have a clue. All I know is my feet kill.

my ankle feels broken right now. my driver forgot to turn on the ZO and proceed to speed upto 42. as i pulled out for the gates i otf'd. ankle had been hurting since.
ive tried the FM's and RS1's. didnt like either one. so im curious to try another system, however i lost about 3 weeks on each set up trying to get used to them. im not sure if im ready to experiment this year.
I put goode power shells 5 to my A1 and today i got a bad fall with goode power shells, but for sure they save my ankle and my knees, it was hard and i even striped one of the buckles from the shell. I have heard the worst things about them and also great things, until now I only can say that they work great. I just to have approach and the pain was bad. Now I can ski more passes without pain.

I skied Fluid Motion hardshells for 3 seasons and loved them. Always released when they should have. Switched to RS1s for the simplicity and reduction of weight and have been very happy with them as well for a little over a season now. I have always released (or not) as I felt I should have with the RS1s as well. Both systems were/are as comfortable as my street shoes. I think the people that are not releasing out of these bindings and breaking things are those running the release and or laces WAY too tight.

You guys all give valid points, I think I am going to just tough it out until I can try the HO's and see what I like. My local shop will let me demo some RS-1's the same day and I think I will try that as well. Thanks.
