Post a pick of your engine and we can probably help.

If you've got the 330hp LTR or 310hp Predator this would be a good long block for you: http://www.sdparts.com/product/12530282/350CrateEngine199602ChevroletGMCPickUpsandSUVs.asp x
LTR has a big, flat aluminum plenum that'll say "LTR" and "Northstar Ignition" on it. Predator will have a plastic cover that's more swoopy like an upside down bathtub.
As long as your camshaft is still good you can install it in this block and your computer's operating parameters shouldn't be affected. Roller cams can reuse the lifters. If your heads are still good, just buy the short block for about $500-$600 less.
As for rotation, you've got a V-drive, so just check the pitch of the prop. Engine should be standard firing order, not reverse.
