zip sled/custom kids ski

anyone out there built a kids ski. my grandpa made one years ago and my uncle made one for me that i am trying to finish. looking for suggestions on the finish. should i fiberglass it? any suggestions?

I would glass it. The one I got from Overtons is coming apart, even after using marine varnish each year.

thanks - i glassed it, painted it for my 3 year old girls. the phrase is for my uncle who made the ski for me who passed away earlier this year. he was instrumental in so many in the family getting on the water at a very early age.
