Hey guys pretty new to the forum, been lurking for a wile and found some good information in the past...
Currently still have the sad and tired clarion system in the boat that came with it.
2 clarion amps, 4 interior, 2 tower, and the 10" sub...
Boat is at the lake and I wont be there for a couple weeks... Would like to have some new components in hand when I get there ready to install... Need to know what size the interior speakers are? How about the tower?
From what I have read you guys seem to like JL and Polk stuff for these boats... Which models do you recommend? Not looking for anything crazy and my budget wont allow, but I need to drop some coin to get it up to snuff... all 4 interior clarions are blown/tore so those are a must to go.. tower speakers are ok I believe, just lack power... and the sorry 10" sub I would definitely like to replace... I have a 1200W Sony 12" P5 sub that I may throw in there with its own class D amp if I have enough room to enlarge the 10" opening.... Then again, that P5 probably isn't a free air sub... have to check on that been a long time
I have read that a common reason for noise in the system is separate grounds for the amp in head unit so I may run a new ground from the head unit to the batt...
How about the head unit? What is is din and a half double din? Recommendations here? Would like to run separate RCAs for the sub instead of the daisy chained scenario down there now... I like the separate controls to turn the sub up and down individually...
Any recommendations welcome, hopefully get some things on order this weekend...
