Hi...

So - quick question to those of you who have or use the JL CL-RLC. It needs 3 power wires, 12V (yellow) IGN (Red) and Ground.

Can i just hook these into the amp and effectively daisy chain them, so that the yellow 12V would go to the 12V connection on the amp and take the red (IGN) to the remote turn on for the amp?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Tom

I wired mine this exact way and it has worked so far.

Awesome - thank you, I'll get to work on that this afternoon then!

If it's good enough for your installation, then it's good enough for me!

Just out of curiosity, why does it recommend a hot wire from the ignition switch in lieu of a remote turn on from the head unit (typically a blue wire)?

I'm not sure but I don't think it's marine specific so using IGN could easier to wire to the car head unit? Although that will also have the blue remote lead?!

No idea - I'm just hoping it works!

The head unit's remote circuit may not be able to support the draw if it's connected to the red lead but a relay could be used, triggered by the remote lead. Maybe someone should contact JL and ask why they have a red instead of a blue lead.

The other reason I found it odd was if it was connected to the ignition lead, the CL-RLC would be on every time the boat was on, independent of the stereo. Why would you want that? It is not like their is any lag time for the unit to turn on.
