Whats the difference if its paid for?
Is there no good reason to invest the money you could have used to pay things off with? Why pay off a loan with 5%-9% when the return on that money used elsewhere could be double or triple that? For example real estate.
And why worry about it anyway. As I say,

Get what you want, not what you can afford, its the American Way.;)

Not just any Beamer. An M3 and M5!

The M5 is a nearly 400HP 4 door luxury car.
The M3 is no slouch at 333HP!
Nice rides Jeff.

Guys,
On the lift behind the house??? I WISH!

Actually, the MC sleeps at another house in the barn in the back. My other posts show the boat in the back yard of that place.

MC in SR (http://www.tmcowners.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=5525)

When it's nice out, I park it in the driveway here, or up at the front of the house...connected to the tow vehicle.

I took some more pictures over the weekend, but I forgot to bring the camera today. It's been a little hectic lately (crush and all).

Has quite a few miles on it, but a damn near new rebuilt 4L60E. Have a 12 bolt Moser in the garage waiting to go in, put a wet shot on it, still waiting on my stall, all the bolt-ons, hoping for low 11s

Thanks!

It's a lot of fun running the car on the track. I started the restoration back in 97 intending to vintage race the car. By the time I was finished in 04 there were numerous opportunities to run open track. That appealed to me for a number of reasons, cost is less and very little chance of me ruining another persons vintage car are a couple.

Looking through pictures last night and found these. I've owned 15 boats and this is the only one I regret selling. It' a 1978 23' Glastron Carlson jet boat. I bought it from the original owner. Was never left in the water or sat outside overnight. The 460 and Berkley pump came out of my '78 Hawaiian, which I had built to around 600hp. I sent the pump out west to be worked over. The Hawaiin would run almost 100mph, in the Glastron maybe 80mph. Couldn't imagine trying to keep gas in it these days.

ColdTurkey
04-06-2011, 11:50 PM
Mate you could end up spending more on a replica then the real deal. It all depends on how much of the work you do yourself.

My investment so far is very low in comparison to the cost of a real one (I do all my own work). I was lucky to enough to pick the body up from someone for half price (10 grand cash) and my original 4x4 I'm basing it on has set me back about $15000. I could have finished it off for a few thousand on top of that but I'm going all out... My final cost.. not a clue :)

Cool idea on the axe handles.
Question:
Is the box on the front just a "hot box" (no smoke), does the smoke flow through it or does it have it's own fire box in the bottom?

I'm collecting parts for my build is the reason for the question.

Thanks

Does that count as a toy?? Right now it's my daily driver as my duramax is in the body shop from run away gooseneck trailer incident... 71 chevy step side long bed, I'm #2 owner. It's paid off, has Dana 60s, 355 10:1 tune port injected, 4 speed with lots of dents, some 41" radial iroks and beadlocks

I'd have to say, 50 mph on my Road Bike and mid 20's singletrack on my Mountain Bike can be pretty exciting.

You're right...I hit 45-50mph on decents many times... it's pretty funny when you can accelerate downhill on next to a great group of Harley's...they get a real kick out of some fit person screamin' down a hill while they rumble by... :D

mid 20's on single track is flying. I assume you are going down hill? Have you been clocked @ this speed?

When riding enduro I average 20 -30 mph down hill and that is with 13" of travel in the front and 12" in the rear. I would not want to achieve this speed on your Orbea XC bike unless the single track was plush!!!

You have a serious set of kahunas if you do it often. :)

There's a singletrack descent on on of my local trail systems that's easy to crack 30 if you stay smooth and lay off the brakes. You have to hit the brakes pretty hard at the bottom for a u-turn or risk going off a 15-20' ledge. I'll ride flat singletrack between 15-22mph. My Orbea has 4.5" travel Fox Fork and 5" rear travel. Enough to smooth things out but still snappy responses.

Haven't hooked up with a group of Harley's yet but have flowed with car traffic many times. I actually ride like a car, takes some motorists by surprised since so many fellow cyclists blow trough red lights and stop signs (guess I value my life).

Have friends and family coming in later this month for the LiveStrong Challenge. Great event and charity. They were helpful during my Bride's battle with cancer. My 11 year old is riding with my group on the 65 mile route.

Thanks. I was 15 and being drug around one evening by my Dad car shopping. He was looking at Bonnevilles and I pointed out the freshly prepped TA and he was apparently ripe for a mid-life crisis car. He came home with the TA the next day.

Saw Smokey & The Bandit 7 times in the theatre when I was 12 and just had to have a Bandit Car.

Dad bought my Mom a 74 White 455 SD Automatic TA that I'd love to have in the stable now.
