I don't have access to high speed internet where i am(The hamsters are not spinning their wheels fast enough :D ).Opening each page seems to take more time.

André,

I'll trade my high speed internet for your lake house and to sweeten the deal I'll throw in half a carton of Lucky's and sixer of Coors Light.

Deal?

I think that's a Military thing. All these people I get email from either have some famous quote or a bible p***age. I think this one is pretty cool. I'll have to change it every so often because I'm sure you will get sick of it.

Welcome Smitty!
Just found this site or a new MC owner?

I'm new to the Mastercraft world. Just bought my first boat last fall and I am enjoying my first summer with the boat. I have been watching the old site for some time and thought I would wait until the new site was up and running. My roots are deep in boating. Growing up I spent my summers working for my cousin Ron Tanis in his boat shop. Some of you may recognize that name. He later become the owner of American Skier (past-tense). Anyway, I spent my weekends in SW Michigan skiing and boating. Our first family boat was a '68 Century Cheetah and then a '84 American Skier. It is still a great boat. But I wanted something bigger for my family and that's when I found the Maristar. Great deal to. 2001 w/ 425 hours. Not a scratch to be found. Paid <$34K w/ the bimini top and trailer. Just as good as a new boat. And, if you notice, the striping on the boat is X-Star and not Maristar. The first owner special ordered with the solid red stripe. Anyway, great to be here and I look forward the talking with all of you soon. Happy Boating. :)

Your doing fine Rick. Just look at the stuff that you use (don’t even look at the scary new stuff). The more you get used to it the more you will use. Have fun man!!:toast:

I think my lack of knowledge with computers is what is so frustrating.. I have always wanted to take a class at the local community college, but other things just get in the way...

Downloading pics is pretty frustrating when I see how cool the pics everyone else gets on here... I am aware that my software for my pics is outdated, but everytime I try to download something new it seems to screw up something in my computer, so I am very hesitant to try it... I have discussed my comcast/netzero fiasco.. It looks like the only way to fix it would be to take my hard drive down to the geek and have him do it...... I appreciate the help everyone on here gives me but then someone starts saying "img" this and at 49, I just don't have the knowledge of these things ( self taught when my company got us laptops)( I had to ask how to turn it on).....

Any suggestions on classes??? Should I take a begginners?? Or maybe the next step... I have always thought I needed a basic class, just to get some of the little things I have maybe missed on.....

BriEOD
07-26-2004, 11:43 PM
Dude, most of those classes teach you Windows Office crap, like Word, Excel, Access, etc. How all the functions work on there, bold, copy, paste, etc. Don't you have any "Comp-u-nurd" friends? I had to take a COINs 209 class (intro to computer) had to have it for my degree program. I had been on computers for like 8-10 years. It was a waste of time, unless you want to do a spread sheet or write a memo with a graph. They don't teach photo, stuff like that in basic classes.

Make sure you update your anti-virus, get an adaware program off Google free to get rid of all the Spyware crap, defrag your computer now and then, get your Microsoft updates and that's the basics.

What kind of photo software are you running? MS Photo editor maybe? Have you read TT Admins photo tutorial? Ask questions here lot's of smart guys. Also, go into your control panel, add/delete programs and have a look around. If there are a bunch of BS programs you don't use "file-6", i.e. AOL, comcast, whatever. If your not sure don't do anything!!! Their is a program that lets somone take remote access of your machine and work on it via internet connection. I'll have to ask my Techy friend the name of it....

TT Admin,
Site is great... It will be better when I figure out how to reduce my "pixels" to be able to post a picture within my profile.

What the heck is a "devotee"? It sounds French??

east tx skier
08-16-2004, 03:14 PM
Did I say that? Oh, now I see. I guess it means they owe us one. Do you think we'll start getting emails from all over the world from people doing studies on "Devotees?"

MarkP
08-16-2004, 04:07 PM
I hope not.

I wonder whats next?? Wouldn’t mind losing the “devotee”. But it looks like I have a long way to go. Two of my kids start school in a couple of weeks so I can “devote” some time to it..:D .
