I can tell you this is a legitimate deal and a great cause in helping our U.S. athletes pay their way to the World Championships. Many country's teams are subsidized and their athletes responsible for less or none of their expenses. Not so with US skiers. Every dollar you spend to buy tickets is either paid back through the cash prizes or goes directly to help a team member with his/her expenses in reaching Belgium. The more tickets sold, the more dollars go to help the skiers. Please help if you can. You have an excellent chance to win some dough too. This raffle has gone on for many years and I've seen the cash and even a boat one year that was offered, won by ticket buyers. The World Water Ski Championships are held every 2 years.

The US World Water Ski Racing Team in conjunction with the IWSRA are having a raffle to help raise funds for its members to go to Belgium and compete in the World Championships in July.

There will be a total of 7 cash prizes awarded. Prizes rage from $1,000 to $10,000 for the grand prize winner!

Tickets are sold for $100 each. Here is a breakdown of the prizes:

1- Grand prize: $10,000
1- 2nd Place: $3,500
1- 3rd Place: $2,500
4- 4th Place: $1,000

There will be four 4th place cash giveaways.

100% of the proceeds go to helping the members of the US World team get to Belgium.

I have been selected as a team member on the Women's Formula 2 Team. If you would like to purchase a ticket (or tickets) to help me pay for my expenses to reach Belgium, please PM me.

Please help support your US World Water Ski Racing Team members!!!

Thank you everyone!

US World Water Ski Racing Team
Hi,

My name is Amy Threlfall and I'm a member of the US World Water Ski Racing Team. We are going to Belgium in July for the world championships, and we are holding a fundraiser in conjunction with the IWSRA to help pay for the expensive trip to race.

Unlike other countries whose teams are subsidized, the US ski racers are not. We are 100% responsible for paying all of our expenses to race.

I was given a suggestion from someone on another board to come here and see if I could post the information for our fundraiser on yours. It is a raffle where the total of cash prizes to be awarded is $20,000. The grand prize winner gets $10,000. This is a legitimate fundraiser. If you would like to see the other forums I've posted this on you may do so here: http://www.performanceboats.com/html/forums/showthread.php?p=659156#post659156
and here: http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18831

If you would like to view other information you can at the following web sites:

I really appreciate you reading this. If you would like a more specific breakdown of the raffle I would be more than happy to provide that for you. This is a tax deductible donation. Please let me know if I can answer any questions for you at all.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
Amy Threlfall

For a little background on my racing here you go:

I began ski racing in 2003 in the Women's Novice class. My grandfather stepped up at the last minute and got his Rayson Craft to race, when the ride I had lined up was no longer available. In 2004 I moved up to skiing in the Intermediate Women (17-29) class. I was shuffled around between a few boats that year because of people leaving the sport and so on. And about half way through the year I started skiing for John Bohls. I finished out the 2004 season as the High Point Champion in my class and National Champion in the 17-29 Women, and Flatbottom Women's classes for the circle racing series. In 2005 I continued to ski for John in the Intermediate Women's class. I was High Point Champion again in 2005. 2006 proved to be a very interesting year... While I was skiing the Parker Marathon, I crashed, and broke my foot. It took just over 1 month for doctors in Havasu where I was living at the time to diagnose the problem because the swelling was so bad. To make a long story short, it took a total of 13 months to get the proper surgery to fix my foot after having one wrong operation and fighting with my insurance company to get the surgery done by good doctors. I now have 3 of 5 screws and cadaver bone in my foot fusing it together. I lost the basically the whole 2006 and 2007 racing seasons. My surgery was in April of 2007, and I was skiing again by August. I skied the first day of the 50/75 at Lake Mead in September 2007 and was in so much pain from the screws that I could not ski the next day. I went on to ski in the US Open Ski Race in October 2007. The following Monday I had 2 screws removed. 2008 was my first full season back racing. I decided to change classes and ski Formula 2 (outboard) in 2008, and try to make our World team to go to Belgium this July. I was High Point Champion for the Women's F2 class for 2008. A great way the start ski racing again!

So here I sit today, trying to raise money to go to Belgium and represent the USA in the World Championships. It is a great honor to represent our country. I would like to thank each and every one of you who has taken the time to read this, and donate to the cause.

In case any of you are in the So. Cal area, and attending the event at Lake Irvine on Saturday, or be at Lake Elsinore on Sunday for the boat races, I will be selling my raffle tickets at both places this weekend. And I will be holding a 50/50 raffle to be done on Saturday at Lake Irvine.

Thank you for your time everyone!
