My ebay auction ends in 1 1/2 hours. Is it normal to not have a lot of bids this late? I have had a ton of emails and questions about it and 46 people have it on their watch list but it no one's bidding!! Advice please

not sure about boats, but i have traded on ebay several times. my last sell (football tickets) got fast and furious last hour. if it does not sell, suggest relisting and having bid close on a tuesday at say 8:00pm. not sure what kind of bidders you will have on a sat morning. anyway, dont get desperate and give boat away. you know, i am sure, from iboats what your boat is valued at. good luck!

It looks like you have a bid at your reserve price so it is going to sell for at least $5,100.00. Look at all the other MasterCrafts for sale on e-bay. Alot of bids but very few reach reserve. Everybody is trying to get a deal and many others are only bidding it up with no intention of purchasing.

My reserve is higher (its $6,200) I don't know if the guy at $5100 has put in a higher # or not. I guess I am just really suprised not more bids. I had 1 guy from Nashville ask me about the buy it now price and a guy from Jersey want to know if he won when he could come pick it up. You might be right, people just looking for a steal, not a deal.

Opps...sorry, your right about the rerserve not being met. It's early here. I guess I'm still half asleep :o That is quite alot of bidding that needs to take place though...be patient. If it doesn't sell you can always relist it.

100 shy of the reserve. I was hoping for you man. People dont know a good boat when they see it.

That was wild, 8 seconds before the end it went from 5425 to $6100!

Does anyone know what this second chance thing is?

Whoever bid 6100 you can offer to sell them the boat for that. Gives them a second chance

I'd say it's normal and people are catching on. All you get from bidding early (assuming no reserve) or bidding before the last couple of minutes in an auction (once reserve has been met) is seeing your name next to "high bidder." Bidding early does nothing more for your chances of ultimately winning and entices others to bid. As a seller, you want people to bid early and often. But as a buyer, I never bid before the last 30 seconds of an auction. I'd say it was normal.

I think the second chance option is when you get a bum winner that doesn't pay. You can offer it to the next highest bidder (2nd place if you will) and see if they want it. My wife does this quite often since apparently her auctions attract a fair amount of jack a$$e$

so how'd it go?
I know little about ebay but if someone would have put in a "max" bid that was at least equal to your reserve amount early in the game, I think it would automatically have taken bidding to your reserve amount immediately.

bidding ended at 6100 reserve did not get met.

I must have missed something.... why, after putting all the work into it, are you selling the boat? (And good luck with it!)

Open bow is the plan, although unfortunately due to our lame HOA we are very limited on models.

Update, a guy who didn't get top bid on the auction emailed and seems fairly interested in the boat. He wants to come next weekend, price agreed upon is $6500

We'll see if it all goes thru!
