View Full Version : Need advice on the throttle cable?

The boat stopped moving under the throttle Sat. night. However, it would idle. I raised the engine cover on our Cadilac (sp) engine and found the cable had come unscrewed at the 1 inch brass nut. I thought no problem. I screwed the brass nut on to the cable end with threads, but it came off the other end which is a short piece connected to a L shape bracket that's on a round style pulley.
I then backed off the cable end threads and got the 1 inch brass nut reconnected to both. I then screwed the regular nut down onto the brass nut to hold it in place. Everything seems to be running o.k. now, and about the right speeds (3600 rpm at 36 mps, etc).
Is there anything else I need to do? Anything I've messed up?
I'm sorry I didn't have a camera to take a picture. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
