I was wondering if someone can give me some info about a 2006 Maristar 200 and how it differs from a x-2? I've been doing alot of research about x-2 and I was looking for a good crossover, do everything kind of boat. Not sure if the Maristar is as verstile as the x-2.

Thanks!

My understanding same boat, different graphics, usually no tower (?) and maybe not the PP or ballast. But I could be wrong so I am sure someone else will know for sure.

You are correct. Purely cosmetic. My '07 X-2 I noticed on the title, it is actually registered as a Maristar.

Now the Maristar 200 doesn't come with a standard ballast system but you can install your own? Since I'm new to the whole ballast thing what do you all think, get an x-2 with a factory ballast or a Maristar with more of a custom setup... I figure the custom setup will be more expensive since you have to add controls as well.

Based on a previous experience I would choose the factory setup then modify if you feel it's necessary. I have a 07 200VRS with the X2 package. After 6 trips out we just love it.

I've got a 2006 Maristar 200 SS and it's pretty much an X2. The original owner had the tower, ballast and PP installed. My boat is kind of bland looking-white with gray above the rub rail. It has Jolly Roger graphics on the side but no Mastercraft or Maristar decals anywhere on the boat courtesy of the original owner. So if you can find a Maristar optioned the way you want it go for it.
