Nice set up Bruce.

Always amazes me how small these boats make the trucks look. Even a 205... my 45 makes our Z71 Tahoe look like a smart car. :)

I hope there are no plans at MC to scrap that hull anytime soon. Although with the 214v I don't see it lasting much longer.

brucemac
04-30-2009, 11:14 AM
ditto planet. i know it's a little on the smaller side beam-wise these days, but it's one of my favorites and imo a keeper. a lot of people think it's dated, but i disagree, especially up close in person.

Just curious; whats the difference between that X2 and the current X1? They look quite similar.

yeah same boat for the most part. i always kid that i have the original X-2. probably not too far from the truth since it was the first year of the X-Star and the 205V X-2. funny it has only been a year. seems like so long ago and so much $$$ ago. did a lot to her in a year.

Agreed, but get a New Dimension Tower only. Anything else just looks cheesy on such a fine boat.

Brucemac...is that a UFP trailer you have? My front torsion axle went out on me last year...thank god it happened right in front of my house. I'm just wondering if the lower tongue height might be putting extra "stress" on your front axle. I purchased my boat used so I'm not sure how the first 5 years of trailering went.

I totally agree about the ND Tower. The only problem is cost. New tower, racks, bimini(wife could not live without one), boat cover...what am I up to now...about $4K? Ouch.

ha ha, hey now auto-ride is awesome!

love your boat sand2snow.

g-dog, it's a MC trailer with torsion axles. you guy's got me worried now about my hitch. i'll have to pick up a new one this weekend. straight out instead of two inch drop should get me don't you think? what is it supposed to be? 15in from the ground with 14's?

I was going to say the truck actually looks pretty level. Most of the time the rear end sags quite a bit with that much load put on it (trailer dipping downwards). AutoRide

If I'm not mistaken I believe the standard height is around 18" to the top of the ball.

brucemac
04-30-2009, 01:19 PM
go cougs! (alum)

yeah it is level. sand2snow is playing.

i think some of them sag without the autoride. never had an issue with mine even loaded out to the hilt for road trips. i do want to get that hitch up a bit though. maybe i'll just turn it upside down for +2 instead of 2in drop.

yeah g-dog that sounds right.

any more 205V's out there? post 'em up!

Before you buy a new one just take your 2 inch drop and turn it over and remount the ball. It's worth check to see where you sit instead of buying new and needing to go higher.

DOH! you just posted that.

Can you post a photo of your bimini if its a NDT model from them? If it is, what do you think of it? Easy to put in and out of use? Issues with it?

Here's my 205V (X-1). Now you guys got me wondering about my hitch. Does it look like I should switch from my 2" drop to the straight hitch? I already have one from an earlier boat.

I would say yes to that. However, when you do you may drag your prop cage a little sooner.

love my X2(205V).
I plan on keeping her for awhile.
Also I like the old school look of the towers. The newer towers just don't do it for me.

It's definitely a balance on the hitch. Don't get is so level that the tougue bounces "up" on the ball when going over bumps. I'd rather have a little more on the ball than not enough.

I went to our local auto store and brought out several drop hitches until I found that looked proportional.

FYI - My mom just went down for her 50th WSU reunion.....I'm guessing it is a Theta reunion
