Okay guys, been away for a few days getting the kinks out of the new boat, getting her broken in, and now that I've had some time to get settled, here's some comments as I reflect back...

First, I have to mention my dealer, Bennett's Boat and Ski. They run a ski and boarding school, and deal MC's only. The customer service was impecable, they truly worked hard to get me in a boat that I'm happy with. Most importantly, they were honest. Not one time did I feel like they were playing games, or not giving me the attention I needed. For those of you who have followed my purchase for the past 8 weeks, you know I've had some hickups. Esteban at Bennett's did a wonderful job working thru the problems, and 'making things right'. I am ultimately happy with my decision, satisfied with how the deal ended up, and PUMPED about the new ride.

So I picked her up last Friday, dealer gave me the water test, and explained everything about the boat, and answered all questions I had. Took about 3 hours from the time I arrive, to when I pulled her off the lot. There was rain in the forecast that afternoon, so I didnt take her out. Saturday morning, woke up at 5am, straight to the weather channel. By 8am, I was in the water, put 9.5 hours on her that day and followed the Indmar break-in procedure. By that afternoon we were boarding and surfing and all I can say is WOW, the wake is tight! perfect shape, and gave me lots of air. Sunday am, I wiped her down and towed her back to the dealer for the 10hr service.

Had a few questions, speedo needed recalibration, alternator whine thru the speakers, wanted the tower lights (fwd and rear) to be able to function simultaneously, etc. Nothing major. Picked her up yesterday and my dealer did a great job taking care of the ten or so issues/questions I had.

Oh, also for those audiophiles, the material for the upgrades is on its way, should start that project next week... will keep a thread on progress.

So today after work, I'm taking her out again boarding for a couple hours. And so the season with the new x-45 begins....

I also wanted the tower lights (fwd and rear) to be able to function simultaneously how did they end up hooking that up??

Dealer had to add another relay cause the way MC had it wired it would have overloaded the circuit, if both forward and rear lights were on at the same time. So he wired it with two relays, now, when i turn the forward lights on, both front and rear are on, and when i turn rear on, just the rear is on.

Here's where she will stay, nice and close to me...

http://members.cox.net/dpabreo/Michael/IMG00130res.jpg

And she will have a nice sunset to view at dusk to calm her after a hard day of boarding...

http://members.cox.net/dpabreo/Michael/IMG00185a.jpg

And the sunrise in the mornings...

I am surprised you didn't want purple and gold for the colors on your boat

Naw, I'm a mild LSU fan, unlike most people around here. I didn't go there for college, opted for a better education. HA!

Once again, great looking boat. I just love the size and look of the X-45. :toast: Sounds like you are have a great time so far. So are you pleased with your decision to go with the LY6 engine over the L18? Are you happy with the performance with and without the ballast tanks full?

mpabreo

All I can say is wow. I would love to have a boat that size that looks that good. X45 is such a nice rig. Congrats. The x2 for me will have to do for now.

I was gonna say to watch out for that aft center cushion (the one that snaps down on the walk-thru); it likes to try to fly out of the boat when trailering, but it looks like she's not gonna be trailered too much w/that beautiful lift...congrats again!!

I have been lurking since you first posted and can truly say that is the best looking X45 I have ever seen. Congratulations on a job well done.

Very nice boat!! Where did you get your speaker an miror covers?

Covers came from speakersox.com. The 2 outer covers have the JL Audio logo embroidered on the side. Also got the board rack covers and the rear light cover. Check em out, they are great.

mpabreo, I've got to be honest with you.... I think this color scheme is WAY nicer than the original you were searching for. I can't stop wondering if I should have gone with blue/black instead of red/black. Your boat si the nicest I have seen on this site.

Thanks Scott023. I love it. I actually have to give credit to my wife, it was ultimately her choice. Of the boats I narrowed down to, she pushed for this one hard. I was leaning toward the black and white. But I'm glad she won, when it arrived, I was super impressed. The light blue and black looks really good together. And as for you boat, don't wonder, that thing is so FLY!
