I need to find a decent hotel there for a couple nights. Any suggestions?

My dad was going there like 5 times a year for a few years for work. He'd work two days, but stay for a week. I gotta get a job there. I'll hit him up and get back to you.

you looking for a resort type place, upscale hotel, or just some where decent to sleep? Price range? I called him and he started asking me all kinds of questions.

I used this company when I was in Bellagio on Lake Como. Stand up place. Nice accomodations...

I don't know if they'll do just two nights, but it's worth a shot.

We're going on a cruise out of Venice but need to stay 1 night at each end of the cruise because of our flight schedule. I'm looking for an upscale hotel or B&B, but not too pricey. Preferably $200/night or less but that's not a hard requirement.

Prices go up a lot in May-August. I lived in Venice for a summer back in 03, & am moving back in September, I've heard that the Hotel Panorama on the Lido is pretty nice, right under that price range too.

Sadly, the boat's got to get sold before the move :(

We stayed in a little B&B on the top floor of this centuries-old 3-story house and loved it. Our own balcony, etc. If the hotel search turns up bust I'd really recommend a little B&B, but just make sure the room has its own bathroom. Most of 'em list on the internet - just Google it and see what comes up.

Two summers ago we stayed at this place for a couple of nights:

Right on the islands, room was OK (even by European standards), and service was not great (even by Italian standards), but nice dining room, good food, and wonderful back porch overlooking the canal - water taxi service right to the back entrance. You could walk everywhere on islands from here if you wanted to (and had enough time) or the main water shuttle terminal was very close. I would recommend this place.

Also if you have time, consider taking a day trip out to the island of Burano.
