Kenwood CD Player w/ IPod USB

I just installed a kenwood head unit in my boat with the USB Ipod control feature. I plugged my iphone in and eventhough it said " this device not compatiable, would you like to switch to airplane mode" it worked after i touched " no".

After a few times , now it doesnt connect at all. The player keeps saying " reading " and it fails to connect. I then tried my regular ipod nano and it doesnt work either. Everyhting else works on the deck, radio, cd, aux input...

Do you think its not compatible with both my ipods/iphone or has my deck stopped working properly?

is the nano the 4th gen?

apple changed the pinouts on their usb with the iphone 3G and nano 4th gen players.

what model is the HU? you probably want to call Kenwood. you may also just have a faulty HU, but my guess it's a compatability issue and you got lucky the first time it worked.

i thinks its 4th gen , it only a few months old. the iphone is about 1 month old. i think is a compatibility issue too. it weird that it worked about 4 times before it stopped though.
