This may be about your only option. It would probably help if someone could trace the base of theirs for a pattern. Then, just have an upholstery shop match a picture. Thickness is about 4".

I will have one made if I can't find a used one. I do have access to a seat from my friends 98 PS 205, I beleve it is the same seat.

I was gonna offer up a pattern but if your friend has a 98 that's the same a mine and same as a 97 :D so start tracing :D good luck.

Thanks. What do you think it should cost to have made?

Maybe $400 if you have marine vinyl and foam professionally installed. Just a guess. That's a pretty big piece. You might save some money if you make the base out of plywood. I think HDPE would be a better option, but not cheap.

I was talking to a big upholsterer here in Az and he just uses ply and only uses HDPE where there's water like a sunpad otherwise just plywood on seats & panels. That HDPE stuff is real costly, when I had to do my sunpad I priced that stuff and went with marine ply with a s-load of poly finish on it and it does just fine with no warping or seperating.

It'll probably be fine. But I'd say that the rear seat gets more soaked than just about anywhere. And in 1997, it was 1/2 of the sunpad.

That is true eastie my back seat gets soaked when I have a boatload  and I tell everyone to drip dry on the platform but they just don't understand

... or they sit on the transom with their feet on the seat and drip on it. To the O.P., I'd suggest a 3 piece design where the middle cushion flips over and makes a step.
Something like this. I know your design sits on side rails, but it doesn't have to unless you need to store something large under the seat. Just put the two sides on hinges and use the middle as a step. There are lots of stories of 95/96 and newer rear seats breaking under load when used as a step. If you do use the original design, beef up the middle.
Sorry for the competing brand, but here's what I'd do. The 91--94 Pro Stars had a step, but still used a single piece seat.

As long as we're looking at that picture, the hatch to adjust the packing nut isn't a bad addition that you can do to the Pro Star either. :)

What thickness was your base and was it Marine plywood? Where did you get your upholstery and how thick was the foam? I need to build the same thing. Mine broke in half. Do you have any other good tips. Mine has a support in the middle when it sits on the floor in the seat position.

Ck out the other 205 seat thread. Dbl 1/2" pressure treated plywood works great.
