Purchased a 2006 X2 in the fall and had it out a few times. Put in the Fly High upgrade in the both the back and under the seats in front, so I'm pumped to take it out this spring.

I am looking to upgrade the prop as it had some difficulties getting out of the hole with only the rear Fly High upgrade before. It has the MCX engine. We do wakeboarding and surfing almost exclusively.

I'm hoping Eric from OJ can chime in and give us his recommendations. Also where to purchase the prop would be great. Is buying a used prop a good idea???

Finally, what kind of RPM and MPG difference will I see with a different pitched prop? I know people say there's a difference, but what's the real world difference that you'll see?

Thanks!

PM Eric, he'll set you up. I've herd of him even letting people try out different props to make sure they get the one they want.

What is the size of the current prop? What is the max RPM this prop will turn?

OJ 522...you'll see as little less top end and mpg but a huge boost in the lower end

I'm not sure what the current prop is...anyone know what comes standard on a 2006 X2? As for RPMs, I really don't know either! Like I said, it will be used mostly for wakeboarding (20mph - 25mph) and wakesurfing (8mph - 12mph). Not sure what RPMs that equals. However, I don't want anything SUPER drastic that it totally kills my top speed and mpg.

I'll try and get some pics up as soon as the weather gets nicer up here in the tundra!!!!

do you have access to the boat? It will say what it is right on the prop

call eric...but i bet he tells you to get a 522 14.75 x 15.5 prop
you'll loose maybe 4mph max...big whoop...you're not footing so who cares?
gph will decrease slightly but again no big whoop...then again if your worrying about gas in a wakeboat find another hobby
OJ 522...that's it

According to my dealer the 06 comes with a 13.7x17 prop. The 2007 and newer models come with 14.25x14.5. Maybe I should go with that one?

pm EJ OJPROP above as that is Eric at OJ props. All MC's come with OJ props on them so he is the man to talk to! He knows his stuff and very helpful.

Oh so now I'm just your dealer, yesterday when you hit me up for a deal on bindings we were "friends"!

Just kidding man.

Agent Utahs boat is a 2006 X-2 with an MCX engine, currently running a 13.7x17 prop.

I'm in a similar boat. Bought an '06 X2 last fall. Came with the stock 13.7x17 prop... plus a prop change kit with a 2nd 13.7x17! Bought the rear fly-high sacs. (not the front one as yet), but have not tried them yet.

Sounds like I'll need to talk with Eric also (wonder if they take exchanges on unused props?). I still need to be able to pull skiers on ocassions...

Are there still good applications for the 13.7x17's? (is there a market for those?)

The 14.75 X 15.5 XMP EDGE will be a good all around propeller a 14.25 X 14 may be a little stronger on the low end but will turn more RPM and less speed than the 15.5.

DryHop - I'd be happy to trade out the unused 17 for a XMP EDGE, give me a call and we can work it out. Eric - 800-359-9730.

Hey Eric, what about the 14.25 x 14.5 that comes on the 2007 and newer X2s? Would you not recommend that one? Just curious...

You can try them all to see which fits your needs best.

Any suggestion on where to pick one up? Do you sell them direct Eric? If so hit me up and let me know the details. Would be open to used as well to save some cash. Thanks!

TOLD YA!!! :)
it is a great multipurpose prop...should of been the oem prop size/model...you'll have no regrets, and if you do you can exchange it (if of course you buy it from oj)
