OK guys gonna replace my hubs on my new to me boat trailer. so i go to take off the old hub off the spindel and boy is it stuck on there. finaly get her off feels like the inner bearing is pressed on there which i know it should not be. anny way i press on and go to put the new hub on and the inner wont fit. i measures the spindel and it is 4.5 inches arround should equal a 1 1/8 bearing inner and the outer is 3.5 inches should be 1 7/16 bearing. my problem is i cant find such an animal at the bearing store. i bought a 1 1/16, 1 3/8 kit but they dont fit. anny help out there? 1984 S&S on I think a 1984 Mastercraft trailer.

It just might be time to take the hub and visit your local trailer sales and service facility.

on further review it seems that the spindle is scored a bit on the bottom the PO must have lost a bearing at some point. So i think that i will haveto just replace theentire axel. Does any one have a source for the proper axel or will any type fit? as long as it is the right size and all. i think a 3500 # will work. any sources for that?

I would start here, http://www.ufpnet.com/, a MC dealer and even here for a replacement axle, http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/category_6970_166839+166843.
