After a long winter, it's finally time...de-winterized last weekend, started up right away & ran fine in the yard, wiped the seats with a magic eraser, didn't find any unexpected issues. First trip to the lake will be this weekend! The water temp of Boston Harbor is about 40, forecast is for sunny & 50 so that's close enough to the 100 degree rule for me...can't wait to get the first set in! I feel like a kid on christmas eve again, just absolutely giddy. Anyone else with remnants of snow still around hitting the lake anytime soon?

I never really quit going to the lake:D Didn't even winterize this year like I do most of the time.

26 miles west of there the lake's iced over still. I am shooting for sometime next week.

Where do you ski? I'm in MIlford.

Flipper, Where are you in Northern Cal that you never quit going to the lake? What lake do you go to? I'm in the SF Bay Area and usually just go to the Delta.

I live in Boston & ski on Lake Webster (~1 hour away). The ice cleared out late last week...I really need to move to Arizona or Florida so I can get away with the "light winterization", & so that the only ice on the lake is the leftover ice that gets dumped out of the cooler at the end of the day.

I live down in Hollister, and work in Santa Clara. We go to San Luis for day trips during the winter most of the time. Summer is the delta around disco bay, New Melonies, New Hogan for the most part. We'll go to Don Pedro here and there also.

I have a friend who lives on that lake. I've never been there, though. Heard it's real rocky.

Do you have a slip there? I'm surprised the ice is out already. Are you in the ski club there?

This will be my first time on that lake, I've only been on Quinsigamond & Cochituate. But neither of those have a gas station on them, & I don't have a place to store it nearby out of the water (plus I don't have a tow vehicle). I've also heard it's rocky, but my options are very limited, unless I want to go way up north into New Hampshire. I'm currently on the waiting list for a dock slip, maybe your friend would be interested in renting out some space? I'm not in the club, but will more than likely join this summer. I drove by it last weekend, & it's definitely opened up.

I'm confused. You don't have a slip and you don't have a tow vehicle. Are you going to keep it at a marina and have them drop it in each time? Where do you keep the boat in the off season?

I'm sure you can find someone who knows the lake to point out the bad spots.

Also, no alcohol allowed on that lake iirc.

I just got a slip on a lake in NH.

Well I got out last weekend here in Michigan, most the ice came off the lake by late afternoon air temp 48 deg. Went footin and slalom, this was worth the hassle even though I had to rewinterize hopefuly going this Saturday 50 deg and partial sun. Boat ran awsome last weekend.

The boat is 2 hours away from home, & I can borrow a tow vehicle for one-off trips like this weekend, but the folks at the marina said there was a good chance I'll get a slip this year from the waiting list. I keep it at my folks' place in CT. I don't think there are any public lakes that allow alcohol (found that out the hard way last year). What lake in NH are you on?

I don't think there's any law against alcohol in your boat on a public lake in MA. Town of Webster added that bylaw to keep things safe on that lake from what I heard.

I'm on Ossipee in NH. I got the slip after a long time owner didn't renew this year. I just got the call last week. There's only a couple dozen slips at this marina, so I got lucky.

I'm even further north in Sonoma County. We ski year round up here as well (lake Sonoma and Berryessa). It's cold, but that's what dry suits were invented for, right

Drysuits??? We just do dock starts/landings. The cold water is just motivation to not fall.

i wish, there is still ice covering both of the lakes I visit here in the northwest corner of CT. I normally don't get boat out of storage until April vacation, and make our first trip 2 or 3 week of May

If you aren't falling, you're not trying hard enough...
