I got to drive a different kind of boat today, and DAMN I want one BAD now. A new buddy of mine (only known him probably 4 months tops) called me today to go out on his boat. Oh did I mention his boat is a 24' Fountain with a 424 C.I. engine in it?:D So anyway we went out cruising (at 75mph) today in his boat. And then he let me drive. I was most impressed. It is amazing to me how stable that boat is. It was really choppy on the river and any ski boat today would have beat you to death. Not this boat however. It was probably the best riding boat I've ever ridden in.

I just figured I'd share my new found experience on the a different kind of boat. Oh I almost forgot to mention, he has a Procharger (supercharger) in his garage that has yet to go on the boat. Were hoping for 90MPH out of it after that mod:cool:

I had a ride or two in fountian boats but its been a long time. Reggie Fountain had a place next door to a guy I was in Scouts with. He would do test drives from his dock on the weekends and load us up from time to time.... Those rascals will ROLL!!

I don't care what you say...I thought it was bad ***. Esp. once you get behind the wheel.

Heres a picture of one that looks just like it.

To each his own but that type of boat has never appealed to me because all you can do is RIDE AROUND in them. I especially like the physical aspect of skiing, try making a solom cut across the wake of one of those deep V's.

They are def. bad arse! We had a 33ft. Baja Outlaw w/ twin 496 HO motors, boat got up in to the 70's easily!

I have a 27ft Baja now, and we are a Nordic Power boat dealer as well. I LIKE TO GO FAST TOO :)

You just want a small boat to go fast, try one of these!

I love offshore boats, but I agree that these boats on lakes is BORING!

Get one of these out in a 4 foot swell and they are FUN!

Wanna ski behind one? Check this out!

well thats the first time I've driven a boat over 45 mph on the water. I've gone fast on jetskis, but it doesn't feel anything like the boat. It was just a different experience and it was INTENSE. I really enjoyed it.

Don't get me wrong I love skiing. But a ski boat is for skiing. If I wanted to go drive around on the river, I'd take a boat like his any day over a ski boat.
