View Full Version : Should TMC#1 take on the "teak Challenge"

02-25-2009, 09:05 PM
Well we all know 03 bought the boat. The teak is not in the greatest shape as we have seen from the pictures. I think TMC should show us his expertise in refinishing this thing to its glory days and more. Take the vote

I wonder if there is a cash rewards program we could offer?

02-26-2009, 07:28 AM
I know nothing about teak, but if there is a Cash Rewards program that goes with the job, I could always take it down to the Waffle House and work my magic with some french fry oil!

He's shifted his efforts towards trailer hitch platforms so he might be busy

That really doesnt look all that bad. Take it to the car wash and power wash it, carefull to be far enough away to not splinter.... you will be surprised how much that does on its own. Then do a Harold special, or some modified program for those of us not retired.. :) Thast what I did to mine, turned out pretty good.

Looks good Gonzo. Did you fallow use the Waffle House french fry oil the #1 talks about?

02-26-2009, 09:20 AM
So harold is taking the job on then or what? I bet prambold or Kjohnson would pay shipping

02-26-2009, 09:25 AM
Come on Harold get that TEAK back to life !!! Use your magic and help the man out !!!

02-26-2009, 09:30 AM
I think Harold should prove himself. Pram will set up the cash rewards for him I'm sure.

I think Harold has retired. He now spends his days playing on his computer and babysitting his granddaughter.

I did a modified harold special, for those of us without 18 hrs to kill.

I cleaned it at the carwash, power washer would work... and then got some semi-rough sandpaper I had laying around, put a coat of Starbrite on it, then some fine sandpaper, starbrite it then some really fine sandpaper starbrite it, letting the starbrite dry in between... no wet sanding, Im too lazy and it spends too much time in the water, I dont have a lift.
