Well, I believe I hav my mind set I want to bu a mastercraft x2. I jus got into wakeboarding and feel this is the right boat...Am I right on this? Also, are there any good sites I can be watching besides this one for a good deal. Looking to buy one within 2-3 month. I don't want to spend over $25,000. This is an awesome site btw and will be on here a lot!

I found that checking here was good, but slow - not as many boats getting posted here as other places, but the ones that are posted are very high quality.

BoatTrader.com, Ebay Motors and Craigslist are pretty good.

Welcome, and others will be along with their suggestions shortly.

Good luck,
/frank

Pretty disappointed in your first post. Don't ever use those two words in the same sentence. J/K :D Welcome.

FYI......Only $25k X2 I have heard of was sold this winter in Bend, OR. It was 2004 I beleive and a repo with 500 hours. A friend of a friend bought it. Good luck!

Sand do you know how that boat worked out for that guy? I was looking at that boat for a little while and I'm curious how it turned out for the buyer.

I think you will probably be looking at early model x stars in that price range. Most X2 (now the X1) are 2003-2005 then they change to the new X2 with the pickle fork as I recall. I think you could find a 2003 in that $28-33,000 range. Currently it is buyers market to some extent on new but used boats especially Mastercrafts hold there values so well.

You could also check with Matt (VOLFAN) he had his 2003 X2 up for sale last year. I think he was looking for low $30's on it. He has sone some upgrades on it if I remember correctly.

the x2 you are referring to is now called the x1. it was originally the 205V drive and when the 205V was tricked-out in a wakeboard package it was called the original XStar. I used to have a 1999 205V (the first year it came out> i put a tpwer on it, added perfect pass, threw in some bags and i had an original XStar. the wake was phenomenal. Not as wide of a a table as the current XStar but a very well shaped wake that can get very big with a lot of weight. it is similar to the old Correct Craft 210 Team Edition. You will not go wrong with this boat. it handles very well although some say it is a little rough in big chop. it steers very nimbly and is easy to trailer and operate in a small lake. the one common complaint i sometimes hear is that it is not quite large enough on the inside for a big family. it sill seat six comfortably, after that it starts to get a little cramped. all of that being said, it is funn htat in a weird way i sometimes find myself missing my old boat although it is probably more for sentimental reasons that for practical reasons. but, it was a great boat and threw a tremendous wake, many say it is second only to the current XStar. good luck and let us know what you find. try to get the MCX engine if you can. the extra 40 hp over the stock engine may come in handy and allow more ballast. also, the correct prop can really change the way the boat pulls so the smallest engine is ample if propped correctly.

Have a 1999 205V here w/314hrs, lift kept, take 10% off the price. We can put on a tower, some fat sacs, good to go for under 25k.

Jim why no pics or year? Does that help them sell better? Maybe my Maristar ad needs to be changed:confused:

If you're going to wakeboard the older X2/x-star (current X1) is a great way to go. I have a 2006 X1 and it surfs and wakeboards great, good for skiers. Good storage, couldn't be happier.

As far as I know it has turned out well. Being winter, I'm not sure if he has had it in the water, yet. He did say it starts and runs well. I will let you know if I hear anything bad.

I had an 01 X30 for 4 years and loved the boat. That's a good price for that. If I was in the market again I would get another one of those.
