I need some feed back here guys. Im replacing one of my boats and need some ideas.
I need a boat that:
Wakesurfs decent
wakeboard
and can get down and slalom.

Im thinking of the 08 X14

I already have an X2 which is good for eveything except serious slalom
and my xstar is good for wakeboard and surfing of course.

other boats im considering are- X7 or prostar 190

X-1 and add a wakeplate for slalom. You could order is with closed cooling, since I don't think MC offers it in an SS version.

(PS, it's cold here..........can I come down to Fla for a session?) :D ;)

i'm very biased on the '08 X14 ... especially with the silver metalic flake ... but forget about surfing ... it wont happen

I don't think you could go wrong with a MasterCraft 300.

Prostar 190!

I think as soon as you throw any real surfing into the mix the Prostar hulls are going to be lacking (190, 197, 214). I think the X1 is still the best boat out when it comes to doing everything good (slalom and surf) to great (wakeboard).

Although, I haven't heard anything about surfing an X14 v-drive.

They have one setup and its one of the only places it is warm enough to get a boat in the water.

X-14v, X-14 or save some money and go with the X-1. If you can get a X-1 dialed in for salt, that is the way I would go.

Try the x15 great wake board and surfing. Can't really speak to the skiiing aspect. I have a 2008 x15.

I have an X1 and it has a good slalom wake above 32mph, above average below that. Surf's and wakeboards like a champ. If anyone can put me in touch with someone that can mount a wake plate I'm all for it.

Your dealer should be able to do it. My dealer does them.

What do you guys think of the X1 with wake plate in a slalom course? My 07 X2 is my saltwater boat and my Xstar is on a private lake in Naples. Thats the boat I use mostly for the surfing and wakeboarding. I wanna replace the xstar with a boat that will get down with all activities.

That's kind of my point from earlier, I've looked for someone who has done or will do a wake plate but I don't know where on the hull you would put it for the desire effect. I anyone has a wake plate on their X1 fess up.

What do you guys think of the X1 with wake plate in a slalom course?.

I think it would be good at higher speeds. Why not keep the X-Star and get a 197 or 190 for skiing? My dream is to have a 197 for skiing and a X-Star or X-15 for wakeboarding and surfing.

Why not an X14 Vdrive? Opposed to 2009?

OK well Ive got an x star, (current x-1) and i don't slalom ski, but Ive got a buddy that does, and hes actually pretty good and while he says its not the best wake for slalom, at speed it is pretty good. the rest of the time we use the boat for surfing and boarding, and it does both very well and is great when loaded down with people or ballast.

As far as the wakeplate goes, I cant say either way since i don't have one, but i would imagine that it wouldn't hurt for sure.

ya i agree with the x1. I think I look more into the x1 and the x14v

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't get an AA plate on an x-1! Atleast thats what our dealer has said!

I can't imagine the X14V is very good for surfing. And isn't that one of the requisites? Isn't the issue that the flat bottom of the 214 doesn't produce a good surf wake more or less regardless of whether the engine is in the middle or the back?

I've never heard of a plate for an X1.
