Need some suggestions on some 6 1/2 speakers for the house boat. These will be mounted outside year round. We have had both sony marine and now JBL marine and are not impressed with how they have held up. Price is not as important as longjevity.

What do you all think we should get?

I love my Polk DB651's...pretty nice speakers, sound is good.

I used Bazooka Tubbies when I had an I/O boat and they held up fine without speaker sox and were outdoors the entire time. Also, I have their other speakers on our party barge (tube and 6x9) and they have held up fine. For the price, they sound very good. Note that these are not high end (i.e JL or Wetsounds) but the price is not high end either.

If it were my boat I would look at Wetsounds XS-650's or Polk Mobile Monitor Series. Both are marine rated (carbon composite baskets and rubber surrounds).

I'm about to order the Polk's to replace the 6.5's Sony's that are in the 4 tower cans on my '04 XSTAR. I've heard a lot of good things about the Polks so hope they rock.

On a similar subject, anyone know where I can find a set of stock m/c light speaker combo's? I have an 07 X45 and looking for two more to match.
