I'm replacing, once again, the prop on my 2004 x-45 and thought I would see if anyone has any suggestions for upgrading from what came from the factory?

Which motor do you have in your X-45? It makes a big difference in prop selection.

It's the MCX 350.

What is the size of the current prop? What is the max RPM of the current prop? What are you looking to change/improve?

It's 13.7 x 17v. I would like to improve MPH without losing time to plane.

I believe the next step up is a 14.5x22. I ran this prop on my old X-45 with the L-18 engine and liked the performance. At the time we would cruise for up to an hour to get to the place we would ride. Being able to go faster at lower RPM's was nice and for wakeboarding we never noticed the difference. This prop may be too much for the MCX though. The L-18 has significantly more torque.

The next step would be the 13.7 X 17.5 then 13.7 X 19.5. The 19.5 would decrease low end while the 17.5 would be close to the 17. Not losing low end and gaining top end is not something that usually go together. I would guess the most you would see would be a 1-2 MPH increase with either prop.
