Has anyone been in a x15 with 310 horsepower? It seems like it might be a dog when loaded up for wakeboarding?

PS - thanks for all the feedback on my earlier thread - It's really helping with my decision

Honestly no, I've driven an X-15 with ballast with 5 people and had zero issues. We run the 310 in my buddies X-1 which has about 3000lbs of ballast plus 8 people and its still not an issue.

At the end of the day you're going to have to drive it to get your own take on the motor, but the 310 has a ton of low end grunt and I'd put it on par with the MCX in that department which is where you need it for wakeboarding.

The Maristar 200 and 215 hulls are a both a more efficient hull than even the smaller 197, with more deadrise and less boat in the water. For that reason, the 310 is a great engine option to give you plenty of push, while still keeping a few bucks in your pocket... Just my two cents.

Don't know about the X15 but my X1 with the 310 does great when loaded, no problems.

I have the "less efficient" hull, the 197, slicing thru the water to flatten out my ski wake. And I love the 310, pulls like crazy, and no sacrifice in top end either.

I have the X15 with the MCX. Even with a couple thousand pounds over stock ballast (including people), the MCX is fine. I'm sure with the 310hp, it would do just fine with stock ballast, but hopefully somebody with direct experience can tell you how the 310 would perform more heavily loaded. You can always upgrade the prop if you were to get the 310...
