Just curious to know if the X-45 with the MCX is under-powered? Should I hold out for one that has the LY6?

Thanks

Where are you located? Are you at any elevation?

What will you be using the boat for? How many people do you have with you when you go out?

We are about 1300 ft above SL. The boat will be used mostly for wakeboarding, tubing, and skiing. I have 3 boys.... which means there will 6-8 folks on the boat most weekends.

Worst case scenario you can change the prop to get better low end torque, but you will likely sacrifice some top end.

The MCX is a strong motor, but on the X45 when you load it up you may find the need for more power.

Thanks Guys. Just curious about the MCX. I have a few friends who have that engine in their XSs and 15s and it defnitly does the job. I am seriously looking towards the LY6. However, I will not shy away from a good deal on the L-18. With that said if you all know of someone trying to sell a low HR X-45 (less than 100) please shoot me a PM.
