That would still be a darn good ski boat. The local club had that boat (mid 70's vintage) with a 225 Merc. and it was excellent.

An old twin engine Hydrodyne. King of the ski boats before MasterCraft came along.Sho' 'nuff... Hydrodyne stayed around for a while as a preferred tow boat for jumpers when the MCs and what-nots came on the scene. Now we have the MC BF 200....

Everytime I see a pyramid I wonder.....
what happens when one person stumbles???
besides a-holes and elbows everywhere!!!:purplaugh

I mean, it would seem those ski ropes could be tricky business when they go flying around.

Is it like...one stumbles, and everyone bails immediately?

So what's the deal with having TRIPLE engines on a ski boat? Is it to go fast, or just to give the boat enough bite in the water to pull a ton of folks up out of a deep water start? Boats pull hard with one outboard. How is it with 3!?

Both. It's for pulling big pyrmids off the dock and massive barefoot lines.

In a perfect world, the chicks fall out the back. I have gotten stitches several times from girls going out the front. They usually understand the warning, "you fall out the front, we run over you".

Tell me you don't start off the dock with a pyramid already built ???
Never saw much ski shows as you can tell! :friday:

It's been my expierence that Hydrodyne Boats w/ Double or Triple rigs are the perfered boats for Ski Shows ( at least for big pyrimids ). I Know the ski club that's near me uses 3 200 Horse Evinrudes. I've seen that boat pull a four high and 2 three high pyrimids all at once. PreFab pyrimids have been very common at Nationals and state Tourneys for many years now.

Yes-You can do what is called Pre-Builts. Guys do sitting starts with the girls already standing. If everyone does their job right, these are actually easier on the body. Normally the girls start sitting on your shoulders and then climb.

Lots of immediate power and flat wake.

Does anyone make a gas tank big enough to feed 3 V-6's? :)
If I had one of those boats, I think a single Pro-Max (300 hp) on a hydraulic transom jack with ~10" of set-back would be perfect.

erkoehler
05-12-2005, 01:03 PM
but you wouldn't be able to pull off 40 skiers!

Gas tanks are huge, and are mounted in the bow. The boats need the weight up there anyways.

scott88prostar
05-12-2005, 01:09 PM
with the power distributed over the width of transom the boat is solid no tippy!

Scott88,

Any chance that is a spare tournament trailer behind your PS (above the starboard outboard in the boat1 picture)? I need one. Do you tow with your FX? How does it do?

scott88prostar
05-12-2005, 02:35 PM
Ryan ...its not a spare its the only one I have...and I bruised it yesterday...this guy was delivering water to the other cottage and I wheeled it to fast..ahh s..t.....the fx pulls it no problem...towed up to Northern Wi last year..300 milkes....plenty of power

....after reading your post...again no thats my neighbors trailer....I saw one on ebay or maybe the cc website...was kinda pricey.
