I'm looking at a 2004 Maristar 230. It has the MCX 350. I used Nada to get a base price, but I don't know how much the MCX adds to it.The boat has 107 hrs on it, they're asking $36k. Without figuring in the MCX, NADA comes in around $34k with the trailer. It's been on consignment at a dealer for six months. Is $36k about right with the MCX? I haven't seen the boat yet, it's 500 mi. away and the weather sucks.

I wouldn't think an the MCX engine upgrade would be worth 2K almost 5 yrs later. MCX is a damn good engine and plenty for the boat with the right prop, I just wouldn't see it holding that much value. Especially in this market...

The mcx wouldn't add any value imo. That boat should have that as a minimum. If it didn't it would be a huge drawback.

It's a good time to be buying a boat. Do your shopping.

Bigmac has the same boat. IIRC

My 04 210 with an 05 tower and the 310 pred was worth about $32,000 a year ago as a trade in. My $.02

No clue on the value, but I have a 2004 Maristar 230VRS with MCX. It's been a great boat. I highly recommend the upgrade to the 2006 rudder for more nimble handling, and make sure it has the upgraded alternator brackets. Also, make sure the side panel where the throttle lever mounts is secure - they have a tendency for the mounting bolts to pull through and the panel to break loose.

Alternator bolts breaking, side panel breaking, and one burned out fuel pump - all warranty. Only problems I've had.
