Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was taken into Federal custody this morning, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. That makes four Govenors from Illinois arrested in my lifetime and one is still in the pen. He was charged with defrauding the State!!!

As a native Chicagoan, I have been preaching against Obama for this very reason. Chicago is the most corrupt place I have ever seen - it is basically a Democratic piggy bank. My brother is a federal agent in Chicago and they are basically the only 'real' law enforcement agency; getting ZERO help from CPD in any of their investigations.

You do not want any of these people in office - Obama included. Blagojevich, Rezko, Farrakhan, Rev. Wright - all criminals and in bed with the Obamanation. Mayor Daley just knows how to keep himself clean and let everyone else take the fall...

Why don't people listen to me? Is this thing on?

Anyway the wrecked alot of good police cars in that movie. They where from Chicago

WHEN WILL THE PEOPLE FROM ILLINOIS WAKE UP. I wonder what laundry will be aired under Obama

Rod Blagojevich was arrested Tuesday on charges of conspiring to get financial benefits through his authority to appoint a U.S. senator to fill the vacancy left by Barack Obama's election as president.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHICAGO Federal authorities arrested Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich Tuesday on charges that he brazenly conspired to sell or trade the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by President-elect Barack Obama to the highest bidder.
Blagojevich also was charged with illegally threatening to withhold state assistance to Tribune Co., the owner of the Chicago Tribune, in the sale of Wrigley Field, according to a federal criminal complaint. In return for state assistance, Blagojevich allegedly wanted members of the paper's editorial board who had been critical of him fired.
A 76-page FBI affidavit said the 51-year-old Democratic governor was intercepted on court-authorized wiretaps over the last month conspiring to sell or trade the vacant Senate seat for personal benefits for himself and his wife, Patti.
Otherwise, Blagojevich considered appointing himself. The affidavit said that as late as Nov. 3, he told his deputy governor that if "they're not going to offer me anything of value I might as well take it."
"I'm going to keep this Senate option for me a real possibility, you know, and therefore I can drive a hard bargain," Blagojevich allegedly said later that day, according to the affidavit, which also quoted him as saying in a remark punctuated by profanity that the seat was "a valuable thing you just don't give it away for nothing."
The affidavit said Blagojevich also discussed getting a substantial salary for himself at a nonprofit foundation or an organization affiliated with labor unions.
It said Blagojevich also talked about getting his wife placed on corporate boards where she might get $150,000 a year in director's fees.
He also allegedly discussed getting campaign funds for himself or possibly a post in the president's cabinet or an ambassadorship once he left the governor's office. He noted becoming a U.S. senator might remake his image for a possible presidential run in 2016, according to the affidavit. And he allegedly said a Senate seat would also provide him with corporate contacts if he needed a job and present an opportunity for his wife to work as a lobbyist.
"I want to make money," the affidavit quotes him as saying in one conversation.

Big shock. I travel in/around IL at intervals and enjoy listening to the local talk shows. Lots of political entertainment. They might as well open a governor's wing on the state pen. Mr. Blago makes me chuckle every time I pass through the high speed toll lanes where his full name is emblazoned on big signs overhead.

Won't it be funny when he is wearing a jumpsuit, picking up trash in view of those signs?

Chicago politics are pretty much the mob. That is why it is called The Windy City; nothing to do with the weather. Stay out of the way of the "Democratic Machine" as it is called and you will be fine. Get in their way and you file for bankruptcy like the Tribune Co. did yesterday. Ironic timing, wasn't it?

Even if they lock him up and throw away the key Obama will just pardon his buddy when his presidency is over. The only thing I liked about Blagojevich was that he was a baseball fan. I even question that now.

It was just a matter of time before the feds got the goods on Blagojevich. The corruption runs deep in IL politics. One only needs to look at what goes on in Cook County. Hopefully this probe will reach Todd Stroger, the Cook County president as well. Another real winner in the IL political scene.

CHICAGO(AP) A lawyer for U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. says the congressman is the "Senate Candidate 5" mentioned in the federal corruption complaint against Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Attorney James D. Montgomery Sr. said Wednesday that Jackson never had a "pay-to-play" conversation with Blagojevich.

The governor is accused of trying to profit from his authority to appoint a replacement to fill President-elect Barack Obama's Senate seat.

Montgomery says Jackson "never authorized anyone to seek the governor's support" for anything of value.

And he says Jackson isn't aware of any associates having made such an overture on his behalf.

Montgomery says Jackson learned he was mentioned in the complaint against Blagojevich the night before the governor's arrest on Tuesday.
