And rest in peace, John Lennon. Today is the highlight of the musical year. Jim Morrison's birthday and John Lennon's assasination day. Today is a day to play some Doors and Beatles and pay tribute to two giants who helped create the soundtrack to the American rock movement. The world hasn't been the same since. Thanks, John and Jim. We listen to you often when wakeboarding. I am the Lizard King, I can do anything...Goo goob a joob.

I've been on the same page since I started my day today and played John Lennon's first solo album/CD (Starts out with "Mother") on the way into the office. It's probably my tenth copy of this album/CD and has been a part of my life since I was in 8th grade. John Lennon, rest in peace!

another of the great men to have died when is message was always simple and the same... let's everyone get along and love one another

Sunrise doesn't last all morning,
a cloudburst doesn't last all day.
Seems my love is up
and has left you with no warning.
But it's not always going
to be this grey.

All things must pass,
all things must pass away.

Sunset doesn't last all evening,
a mind can blow those clouds away.
after all this my love is up
and must be leaving.
It has not always
been this grey.

All things must pass,
all things must pass away.

All things must pass
none of life's strings can last.
So I must be on my way
and face another day.

Now the darkness only stays at nighttime,
in the morning it will fade away.
Daylight is good
at arriving at the right time.
It's not always
going to be this grey.

All things must pass,
all things must pass away.
All things must pass,
all things must pass away.

Green Day recently released a cover of "Working Class Hero". I found this original version off of John Lennon's first solo album on Youtube.

Jim Morrison grave Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris, France 1983. People would sit around his grave drinking and smoking hash cigs all day for years but they have since changed the headstone to detour Jimbo fans but it's still a famous spot. It cost money to get into this cemetery, not much but a couple francs back in 83, wonder what it is now?

My college roommate introduced me to Rush, U2, the Doors & Beatles (beyond the usual few radio tunes I'd heard), and I am eternally grateful to him for that. It was a bit of a musical awakening for me. I'll have to go dig up Peace Frog, killer song!
Jim sure could belt out the tunes.

I have been off the water after a knee repair and started digitizing some old ski clips to string together. I put some winter-skiing shots to "light my fire" - Morrison and MasterCraft. We all have our addictions I guess! http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=ToqdeD7gE48

Living in the northern US is tough on waterskiers. Sometimes I wish a different hobby had picked me!
