Ohiopro: I'm far north of you now, but lived in Picktown for a few years, and went to OU. Where do you take the 205? We have family in Canal & Gahanna, so we're down there some. Was just in Lancaster t-giving weekend. It was my 1st time on the "new" bypass. I knew they would do that after I finished @ OU....

Are you new to the area?

I mostly ski at Griggs Resevior, or if the family wants to head out for the day we go to Buckeye Lake or Alum Creek.

Where do you go?

We go to deer creek, paint creek, and Dale Hollow as much as we can. I actually live south of Amanda a couple of miles. Lancaster was easier to find.

Ben, the bypass would have made things alot easier for you. It is very nice now. Are you rooting for OSU on Jan.5?

Because I went to OU, I'm not so much into college football. Or sports / current events for that matter - kids seem to take our time up... Trying though. I'll tell my wife about the 5th - she's a Buckeye - which made it really hard for her to move north...

I root for whichever house, bar, or tailgate has the best food and drinks during gametime. Then I root for the opposite team as the majority, it's fun that way. I wore a solid blue & yellw block letter shirt to the OSU/MICH game last year to an old coworkers house in NW Columbus. Everyone else had red on. Sure got some funny looks - my friend laughed, as he knew I really don't care...

Now they just need a Nelsonville bypass - haha.

Where is paint creek?

I would have been one giving the funny looks. Paint creek is on Rt. 50 between Chillicothe and Hillsboro. It takes about an hour to get there but usually has great water.Tell your wife to be cheering them on on the 5th. GO BUCKS!!!

Hey Ohio boaters. There's some good water out there if you can hit it during the week when all the workin' stiffs are busy!!

And ditto on the "GO Bucks"

Flatboard, where do you generally go if you go through the week? Weekends?

My boat and truck is at Lake Cumberland. I spend most of the summer there. I will sometimes bring the boat back between trips, but with the price of gas, or at least what it was during the summer, I leave it there year round.

Like footin said, Griggs and Alum Creek are good during the week, but get a little crazy on the weekends.
