well as technically and scrupulously as the constitution has been taken apart and manipulated about matters dealing w/ freedom of speech and separation of church and state its really going to be something to see that this is overlooked or swept under the rug...

i mean if a judge w/ a flawless track record in alabama is threatened to be disbarred for having the ten commandments on display in his courtroom and a teacher is fired for holding an organized prayer in a classroom... its totally plausible to think that our president doesn't really have to be constitutionally qualified... the way the details are picked out and emphasized on these other issues you wouldn't think it actually possible but i'm interestedly watching how this one unfolds

LOL. Forget it...ain't gonna happen. These fringe kooks aren't going to get any more political traction than the ubiquitous tax protesters. Unless he screws it up, Obama's going to be our president for the next 8 years. We're all just gonna have to deal with it.

Obama taught Constitutional Law for about 10 years- he knows it inside out and that's one of the reasons he causes me some concern.

Yea, but this does bring up another question,

A non-partisan election joke! Not Republican or Democrat

Since we're at the end of the presidential campaign, I figured some political humor might be in store. The following is a funny and true story shared with me by KC Williams who teaches AP Government at Santa Fe High School. In one of KC's classes, they were discussing the qualifications to be president of the United States . It was pretty simple.

The candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age.

However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair was the requirement to be a natural born citizen. In short, her opinion was this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president.

KC and the class were just taking it in and letting her rant, but everyone's jaw hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating ....

"What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by c-section?"

And someday she'll vote!

Our Son In Law is/was a avid Obama supporter and Saturday he started this dissertation out of the clear blue sky, about how disappointed he was in how Obama had already become one of the typical crooked good old boy politicians in Washington, well Duh! I got up headed for the door, counting to 10, went outside in the cold, walked around and ended the conversation.

Nothing there in the clip that surprises me about the intelligence level of an obama voter. The founders warned about an uniformed electorate. We shall see the consequences of that.

His buddies are starting to fall. IL Governor Blagojevich was arrested by the Feds this AM for taking a large amount of money to fill Obama's Senate seat. Blagojevich's wife is a business partner with Tony Rezko. I wonder how far this will go.

Thank you for contacting me regarding Senator Barack Obama's eligibility to become President. It is good to hear from you.

Article II of the Constitution states that in order to be President, a person must be a natural-born citizen, at least 35 years old, and have resided in the U.S. for at least 14 years. Regardless of the citizenship status of the parents, any person born on U.S. soil is a U.S. citizen.

Senator Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961, which makes him a U.S. citizen and at age 46 he meets the minimum age requirement. He has also resided in the U.S. for at least 14 years. While I do not agree with many of Senator Obama's policy positions, he does meet the Constitutional requirements to be President of the United States .
