I belong to a couple Land Rover forums, use to frequent various RC forums and have been known to visit the DS (but not very often).

Jim, if you're worried about me, nahhhh. I was just looking for a honda forum that moment and figured similar interests in other hobbies might lead to some connections for TMCers.

We all need new and different places on the web to waste our precious time, don't we?:D

When I am not checking in here and wakeworld (a lurker there)...... I spend a lot of time on my other hobby which is a motorcycle adventure riding website. Cool guys as I hang out and have beers with them every so often as they meet regionally usually once a week at a local pub. Just guys and gals from all over the world who like to motorcycle ride and have adventures.

rarely do I go here but read it every so often....... Snowest.com a snowmobile site for wetsern riding.

Thanks to a lot of people on this board I use the following for great info:
www.dootalk.com - ski doo sowmobile forum
www.hardcoresledder.com - overall snowmobile forum
www.dieselplace.com - GMC Duramax site
www.letstalksnow.com - Snowplowing forum
www.fifteenoff.com - waterski forum for those of us who are not pro shortline skiers

Now that I look at it I have way too many hobbies and may need a "bailout" to keep it up.
No wonder why I don't get any work done!!!

Man get a sand rail. I saw a special the other night and Robby Gordon was plaing with one. He was walking the thing up the hill with both fronts pointed to the heavens. A vehicle like that would have to be fun.

If I was going to do a Baja Bug again, I would look for a roller (No engine) with a full chromolly roll cage 3x3 Rear end and good tires and rims, start from there, seats, brakes, plumbing, lights and electrical you can do yourself the hard part is a GOOD cage and suspension,:D even body work is easy with a Baja (BONDO) and fiberglass, an engine? Buy a short block 2180cc then you can do the top end yourself single carburetor you are looking for reliability with a 2180 you will have the power no need to go duel carbs they will only drive you crazy in the dirt, if it is going to be your sonís to drive on the street? You may look at a 1716cc to keep the speed under control?? DONĒT EVER put an 1835cc in, it is a bad VW engine combo, and some people are putting V6 and V8 into them?? Too much weight for a Baja you are looking for light and quick, weight kills your suspension a 2180cc will give you about 170HP with an 1800 lbs. Car, you will be fine :headbang:

Thanks, real quick, what's the deal with 1835's? I put one in a bug back in the day and it as I recall it was a pretty good motor aside from the stock 1600.

M-Funf, the houserepairtalk one looks pretty useful to me, thanks for the link! The only "woodwork" I do is the TMCNo1 Teak Care Program, but like many people I do live in a house and it requires some level of attention from time to time.

It is a pretty good resource. There are some pro contractors over there that can be a bit "naggy" about non-pro's doing certain things (things not to code). Other than that, I've had a LOT of questions answered there. Not much traffic, though, so answers come slow.
