I am adding a Monster Tower to my '89 Tristar...I am sold on Wetsound tower speakers and plan on adding the "3-Some" powered by the Wetsounds SYN4 amp. I already have a small amp powering a 10" sub and the boat speakers are powered by the head unit. If I only am using the stereo with the engine on, will I be safe running that big of a load of a single battery? If I need a second battery, is there a good spot for it in a Tristar?

Here is a picture my boat that I am upgrading...

Thanks in advance.

I run these Kinetics batteries with no problems... HC2000 are twice the Amp hour rating compared to a blue top optima

I run three amps, 4 tower speakers and sub off one battery. I think I will add another one down the road but so far two years and no problems.

That was probably the best thing I've ever bought. I use mine a lot. Only once on the boat, but other boats, cars, and with an inverter, I have power in the tent:cool:

You will be fine with one battery if you only play the sterio when engine is running.
If you sit with engine off, you will want two or more batteries. depending on how long to play without cranking to charge the batteries.

However You might need to upgrade your alternator.

If the engine is running, and you are above 1000 RPM's and the sterio is cranked up, your guage should still show 13 volts. if its below, its not putting enough out to keep up with the sterio amps.

craig3972: Where did you purchace the Kinetics batteries.

Thats a good idea...I think I will go that route and I will have nothing to worry about.

My old fishing boat was saved by one of those back in the day...

orx-1...what kind of tower speakers are you running? How do they sound 80' back?
