im going to convert a 2004 x2 (350mcx) to lpg id like to remove the original petrol tank and replace it with a smaller one ..
can i use any fuel injection pump so long as its the correct pressure+flow rate? even a pump thats outside the tank instead of the mastercraft intank one? glenn

I am not the expert on this and some one with a better background will certainly chime in.

Coast guard regulations and preventing vapor lock are the important reasons for the current in tank fuel pump design. But, other inboards do indeed have outside the tank pumps.

I suspect the answer to your question is yes, but your boat may no longer be coast guard legal.

I am using Coast Guard generically here as I do not know the maritime regulatory division in the UK.

I can't help you much but I dont understand why you would want a smaller tank?

If anything I could understand a bigger tank for more weight.

Martin James who the the REp for MasterCraft UK. has a vendor and MasterCraft
Dealer in England who does this. I spent a week with him last month at the factory

You best starting place for info is the dealer across the pond then onto him. Great guy

I do not know the specfics but I think you do not have to remove the tank
