Just wondering how many Canadians and northerners are still skiing this November?
It was beautiful here yesterday the air was in the low 60's and the water was well........read on.
I left the boat in late again this year after telling myself last year, never again. But this year it worked out!!! Got a chance to really put the new drysuit to good use.
Here are a few shots from last night in eastern Ontario. My neighbours think I am nuts! :D
Check out the water temp in the last pic!!!

Good Pictures. You're not the only nut. I went out yesterday as well. Water 55 degrees and no wetsuit for this fat boy.

I had to put my boat away October 4th this year. Had too many other things going on to be able to use it. After this week though...ugh! It's killing me that I can't get at it to use it! We hit 72 yesterday. It would be great to have a November run! Oh well, maybe next year! Great pics! Thanks for rubbing it in! :D

I save my Novembers for hunting and watching football but my buddies have been out. Monday and Tuesday were pretty close to record highs with temps in the 70's, honestly though they will be out till there's ice on the lake and then they'll head to the river.

Cool pictures. Our lake house is in southern WI and we put our boat away for winter 10/25/08. The weather since then has been very mild and we could have skied longer into the season however with the kids back into school mode & sports we just don't have the time to go to the lake house every weekend.

Enjoy your extended season.

Today is even nicer, but cutting out early two days in a row might be pushing it. The problem is that it's dark by 5:00pm this time of the year!!!

I skied on Monday in Northern Michigan, 68 air temperature, 53 water temp. I got to ski behind the new X-14V, and I was very impressed. I don't have any pictures of the skiing, but I do have one of the boat.

I ran out of willing drivers about 3 weeks ago 'cause it got COLD (actually, it never really warmed up around here last summer)... The last couple guys I asked to go laughed at me. I finally gave up and winterized.

It's currently raining, has been raining and will continue to rain here for another 5-6 months... unless it snows for a couple days, but then it'll turn to rain again and melt the snow. I can't wait for summer!

What a timely thread.
I was out yesterday raking leaves, air temp was about 68F, the water about 50F, and the lake was glass.
I can't say I've skied in November before.
I loved it.

We are still at it here in MN - snow just arrived today.

The Mighty Mississippi stays open in front of my office year around (unless temps drop extremely and there is no wind - creates a glaze of ice).

I keep our older PS190 in my warehouse just up the street from the landing. Always warm and ready - never winterized.

We pick the warmest day of each month through the winter and make sure to get out for a legitimate run.

Myselft, my wife and two buddies have not missed a month for 5 years. Lowest air temp experienced to date was 18f a couple of years ago in November.

Here are a few pics of ice-breaking and skiing.

I have made the offer before and will again - my threshold is 4 degree C air temp. :) If you no longer have my contact info let me know and I will send again. I was looking to get out a few times after we came back from ON, but the last few public nights at FVWSC were rained out.

yippikaiyay: We are across the street (Hwy #28) on one of the "hidden lakes" when in ON in the summer. Seems I exhausted my driver and crew this summer past (as I enjoy getting out daily when we are there) so I am working on building up a network of others to ski with - if you are interested shot me a PM.

don't you have to worry about the block freezing with overnight lows this time of year?
we were hoping to go a little longer this year, but didn't want to push our luck and have a potential disaster

whats the secret?

As long as the boat is sitting in water that is well above freezing - 40's, the air temp around the engine stays warmer than if the boat was sitting on land.

A long time ago, I used to go all the time in the winter until my bud sold his boat. Now I own one and I'm back into it I don't know of anyone willing to brave the elements anymore. I'd be interested in going as well. There's a threesome, right there! ;)

It was a BEAUTIFUL day yesterday! As luck would have it I have a friend who needed a hand winterizing his boat. I looked at it as one last opportunity to get a couple of footin runs in. I just learned how to step off from skis this summer, Man I love keeping my hair dry for that first run...

Water temp was 54 degrees, air temp near 60.

ya our bay froze over the course of the weekend. Was a "refreshing" -8 degrees celcious.

Nothing like going out for a canoe trip!
