I'll start. Had a goal to run my 35' off this year. That is 4 balls better than I had as a previous P.B. in 2007. Sorry to say, I didn't make it. Not trying to form excuses but I had a hard fall June 21 (first day of summer) and it took me out w/ ribs and an ankle for 8 solid weeks. I also had trouble w/ my ski partner (new baby in the house) and didn't get the water time I needed after that. It was a good year, just not great... but it has me hungry for next year and I am already on a conditioning program for next season. Ankle strength as a real reason. Broken ankle 2006, bad sprain in 08, so I'm on the strengthing big time. That's an idea for a thread, "Favorite excercise for ski conditioning".

Its not that I didn't, its that I couldn't; what I mean is the ski course wasn't out this fall, thats why we're buying one this winter.

I did get more complete 32's than ever, so that is an improvement. I did one ball better than last year, 3 @ 35. Half way there!

I got out 3 times before May.
May 21 i got married in Maui, stayed for 4 weeks which bleed me till late August.
September i got out the first two weekends had a blast only to find out my wife was pregnant on the third weekend of September.
Why doesn't someone just get to the point and rob me of my gas money ;)

I always try and get out in the summer every chance i get but sometimes things don't always go your way.

All in all it was still a good summer:D

Got to wakeboard on my birthday (Oct 19th) which fell on a sunday this year

Bonus

Wakeboarded and wakesurfed Nov. 1st, latest ever for me (and in 45 degree water)

Congratulations on the marriage and the pregnancy. Next summer may also be a challange. Those little ones will rock you for a year or two, but very worth it.

i had a goal to make my 15 off pass... (second season slalom skiing) and i came within about 3 inches of it on my last run, if i would have had one more set i truely believe i could have done it... oh well 22 off seems like a valid goal for next season

Got pretty proficient at running 15 off @ 34 mph. Never nailed 22 off though.

That one is for next season, I guess.

No need, the boat is a big play pen until they are able to get out of it.:D

My goal this year was to run a clean 15 off at 34 (got close last year), then I hoped to get "a few" at 22 off. Ended up running a handful of clean 22's, and made 4 at 28, way better than I ever thought I would get to. What really helped was skiing 2-3 times per week, up from 1-2 times per week, and skiing with someone better than me. A bit easier to do now that my kids are getting older. I do remember it was pretty tough for a few years when they were little. Next year I hope to get through 28 off, and get "a few" at 32.

My goal was to get to 15 off, 30 mph. I had not completed the course at any speed prior to this year and I only have course access through clinics, fun tournaments, etc. Best run was 3 at 32 mph, so I got my goal. Nesxt year hope to get to 22 off.

My goal was 100 bouys in a tournament - 4 @ 35' off, 36mph. I managed 97.5, a little short. Ended up with a ranking score of 96, which in retrospect I have to be pretty happy with. This was my first year back to tournament waterskiing, and prior to this I was lazy for a year and only skied 34mph, with a prior best of 2 at 32' off, 34mph during fun skiing. Last time I skied a tournament prior to this year was when I was 18, and even then my PB was 4 @ 28' off , 36mph.

I'm pretty satisfied with the season, although I did burn myself out a bit chasing bouys. The month of September I discovered wakeboarding and had more fun social skiing and just relaxing. Hence my decision to get rid of the 197 and grab an X2 and spend 09' having relaxing fun, learning to board, improve my tricking - and just kicking back.

That's great progress Kevin, way to go. If you get from not running 15 to 32' off in 2 years that is good. Congrats.

Bought a Mastercraft and a tow vehicle...I would call it a successful season. Saving all winter now for a 205v or Xstar. Not a bad start for a 19 year old in school.

Wanted to run 32 off this year.

I did it. 4 @ 32 34MPH. My tournament PB was back in 1983 with 3@32 at 36MPH then went 25 years and an additional 25 lbs without skiing or chasing buoys. This March bought X7 and started chasing again.

Paying off the brand new Mercury 225 Optimax on the back of my 1978 Hydrodyne. Thank God my 89 Prostar 190 is paid for. Not bad for a 21 year old in nursing school!

Skiing Goals for 2009:

1.) Front flips over the ramp
2.) More Consistant Doubles Moves
3.) Back Barefoot (actually Started this one this weekend!)

Congrats! That must have felt great. Chasing bouys sure is addicting.

I had no goals for this year, only to do the best I could. When I started this year, I had never made a full pass and am in my 30s = not a good time to start chasing those balls.

But....with credit going to a good boat driver and to the person whose name is the first part of my screen name ;), I was able to get a legal 22' off, 34MPH pass once.

Yeah, that's what it's about, making a new pass. That's awesome as far as I'm concerned. I'm still on cloud 9 from making my first 22 off/34 mph pass this summer. It will give me daydreams to last through our long winter here. Can't wait for the spring, and I usually love winter, as long as we get some snow.

Cross posted from the "the FIX MY FORM thread" so if you have any comments please post them in that thread - click here (http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=274) to go to the other thread.

Click here (http://www.mediafire.com/?ntg2yjnzymz) to view a sample video from the summer past (30 mph in 4 ball course). After watching this one (and others) a few times (after the boat was pulled out for the season) I began to think:
I am not pulling long enough (I should be pulling through and past the second wake); and

I need to increase the intensity (lower the handle to my waist).

Are these even close? All (constructive ;))comments are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Duane,
I got your message. Good news on the new course. We're heading out later today and I'm going to look for you guys there!

BTW, what I meant as my goal was to run 6 @ 32. Like you, my PB so far is 4 @ 32. What is it about that #*$% 4 ball anyway?

Yep. It was still there yesterday. :(

I ran over it one time and it threw me down hard. The balls don't like that.
