Ok, about September I picked up a 07 X2 and put away the 197. Left it in for as long as I felt I possibly could, but took it out of the water yesterday. Figure that if I can't play on it, I'll play IN it.

This boat had all kinds of cool stuff on it before I got it, so it started out good. Didn't really go for the Switch graphics, so I cleaned them off. Boat looked nude, so I added the MasterCraft letters. Now that it's getting cold, it's time to hunker down and get to work!

Well, the "old boat" is out of the woods, and safely tucked away in the storage building. I have fantasies of keeping her around for early morning ski sessions (I don't do enough of this anymore). She does need a new home though.

Found a deal on transom lights, and committed to four of them (two more than I need).

Sounds like quite the winter project list. Hey, how long have you had that boat? Looks just like my '07 I had. Sold it to a guy in Texas, and know he was trying to sell it a month or so ago.

joe... one thing i forgot to mention you might want to think about... it is illegal in a lot of places to have colored lights on the tower so you might want to consider a way to put a switch on them if you're going to put lights in the grilles of the tower speakers

(not that it would matter at night really b/c if a cop boat sees them on he's gonna get you a pull you over WAY before you see him but you can turn them off to please him never-the-less)

Justjoe
10-30-2008, 04:59 PM
That's a great point! I hadn't thought about lights in the tower being illegal.

I had been looking for red transom lights to match the rest of the LED's on the boat, but heard that they were not produced because it was illegal to have any (at least exterior) lights that were either red or green, as those are directional indicators. Decided to go with the blue transom lights (of which I have two extra for sale) which drove me to replace all the LED's that Skeeler put it with blue ones. Now I'm going to replace the red toggle switches on the dash with blue, and looking to put blue lights into the instument bezels.

Plumbed in my integrated bow sac today by tying the center tank overflow into the lower rear port side of the fat sac. Plugged the port top and center top holes, and plumbed the starboard top to the overflow that used to be for the center ballast. I was able to use the existing hose to meet all the fittings. Looks good, but guess I'll have to wait a few (five) months before I get a chance to test it.

Ok, almost everything is done. LED's switched to blue, new grills and grill led's (see the thread, it works awesome), third amp put in, third sub (memphis audio) added, volume control for the hull speakers added, bow and rear sacs plumbed in, binding blaster moved, transom lights put in...and it's still JAN.

Ordered my shower system today. Looking at seat heat elements.

ha ha, sweet!!! is that what you wanted those mounting cups for a few months back?! wasn't that you?! :D

hey, question, i dig those new graphics and have been really debating changing mine out.

where did you pick those up and if you don't mind me asking, can you give me a ballpark price? feel free to pm me if don't want to post up in the thread. i know they're not cheap, but would like to know what they cost since i'd have to get them through a dealer. have any more pics of those up close? trying to see what the outline/border is. thanks justjoe and again, looks awesome!

hey joe, which transom led's did you go with? maybe i missed it.

Justjoe
03-27-2009, 10:31 PM
Hey!! I went with a pair of Abyss 600b in blue for transom lights.

The little X2 on the back was produced for me by domednumbers (or is it domedletters.com) and were like 50 for the pair. They are chrome with a black outline and are 6 inch letters, and are, of course, domed.

The MasterCraft on the side came from the dealer stock, and I think that they were close to a couple hundred a side (I cant really remember).

And yeah, I was the one looking for the tweeter pieces (I think they turned out well). I am running four 60watt halogens across the tower, and so far I'm impressed with the brightness and presentation.

Now we just need to warm up the nights a bit so I can put it in the water!

DUDE!!!... super sick... ain't gonna lie... i thought you were a little crazy when you first dropped this bomb on me but that steeze is bad dude... i guess the main question is... how bright are they?... either way... super dope and they look great

Justjoe

There are four 60 watt halogens spread across the bar. Bright as the sun (in the barn).

What was the cost of the tower light setup?

Justjoe
03-30-2009, 05:10 PM
Hmmm... the final figure is pretty soft right now. I guess alot depends on chasing down parts (and lack of availability for some stuff).
