I have a 1994 205. the gauges don't work in the on position with the key but the lights, blower, etc will work if the button for them is pushed. Also, the boat will crank but will not fire to start. While I am trying to start it, the guages do not work. Recent alternator replacement. Any thoughts--Thanks

Make sure the lanyard on the safety switch is in place and the switch works. Press on the center of the plastic clip and watch the gauges. If the clip has relaxed, get a new one.

I did notice that the little knob/button on the safety switch seemed to be stuck in and the clip that goes over it did not seem to engage that knob. Is that what you are talking about? If that is the issue, where do you get a new switch? thanks

Here, http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=SIEMP40970 or maybe a MC or any boat dealer for that matter.
