So I know that I saw a thread on here about everyone's projects for the summer, but im wondering what everyone is doing to their boats over the winter. And now that the cold weather is set in Ive started to think about this.

I'm wanting to:
-add a tower mirror
-add some sweet LED's (saw the how to on here)
-make some kind of bow filler cushion that will double as a cooler (anyone done anything like -this?)

the bow filler cooler is a great idea... might have to read into that thread when you get it done:D

-planning on plumbing in some serious additional ballast... put me about 600 lbs more in the bow and about 950 lbs more in the rear

-adding 2" leveling kit, KMC XD Rockstar 18x9s to the truck, and wrapping them w/ 275/70/18 nitto terra grapplers to upgrade the pull vehicle (07 toyota tundra double cab Limited w/ TRD)
41338

-sticking in a cold air intake on the truck too so i can push it over the 400hp mark... don't need it just want it

-getting my butt back in shape through some serious gym time

I have want to make my own bow cushion filler also, with a built in cooler that's the ticket!!!!!
have to rethink my design, thanks for the idea!!!!

yeah im thinking if we aren't using the cooler, it could be filled with water to add extra ballast, and even with drinks in it i guess it still adds some weight to the front.

What about getting those cargo hatch liners they use for bass boats. Get the plastic board cut to fit the opening between the seats, then set the hatch liner down in the board. You could cover the board, liner lid...ect all kinds of options.

Adding GT40p heads, new cam and Edelbrock Intake to my 83 S&S engine.

Also, I am trying to figure out an adjustable weight balance system that will allow the driver to compensate for weight differences in observers at slalom speeds (side-to-side). I like a well balanced boat when skiing.

add tower braces, add remote oil-filter relocator kit, add mufflers to boat or add fresh-air exhaust to quieten down the mufflerless L18 (who's idea was it to remove the mufflers from the boats anyway?).

I'd like to add some additional ballast to the X14. It needs to be hidden. Anyone have any ideas?

Think that I will be installing a fly high system over the winter.
Other than that just give it a good clean once it gets back from the shop next week (had some warrnaty issues getting delt with).

SWEEEEETTT... my project got ammended though... sorry ubugme2... not gonna have matching wheels... due to the fact that my factory wheels have a 55mm offset (yea... that wasn't a typo) and that the 18" rockstars only offered in a 0mm offset (ie w/ the tires i'm putting on and the .5" increase in wheel width my tires would stick out about 2" past my factory fender flares) i refuse to have a dumb looking truck so i've changed wheel design so i can get a 35mm minimum offset so the tires will be about in line and possibly under the fenders... still gotta make a final decision on the leveling kit... anyways here's the new wheel options

option 1
41378

option 2
41379

Neither black wheels are totally played out, now. They were big a few years ago, here and they have since dwindled in "coolness". You cannot go wrong with a clean styled chrome wheel.

Winter boat projects?...

- New custom guide pole covers.
- New blower.
- Rear seat (if I have any time)...

iiiiiii just can't put chrome on mine... i don't like keeping one that clean... and i'm not going to pay a bunch for the wheels and them get all jacked up... i'm gonna have to leave the wheel polishing to my neighbor who polishes his spinners (he's got a reported 12k in his wheels... and they're really sharp)... apparently DUB has called him a few times discussing putting his brand new charger on the website... i think i'm going option one... i don't want a flashy look and they'll look good but not flashy and serve the purpose...

i like to take cradit for starting the whole black wheel craze actually hahahahaha... ok no but i did put a set of black american racing rock crawlers on my white CJ-7 rock hopper when i was in high school... like around 2000... haha totally didn't start it but i did bring black wheels to my high school... and the CJ left at my parents demand when i got in trouble for climbing the 30 or so steps from main street up onto the court house lawn... yeah i would have been good if i hadn't turned around came back down them... o well... made $20 buck and didn't get a ticket just a good old fashioned butt chewing from mr bradford (the officer) and my parents... these are the steps on the opposite side from where i went up... the ones i went up are about twice as many steps... fun stuff... noy real challenging but it was the courthouse

My project is to finalize the plan for my riverfront house, get all the cost estimates for materials, identify all subs, get my construction loan and start digging when the snow melts....if I'm lucky, I can move in and be skiing at the end of next season....

I know this isn't a boat project, but it's boat related. I need to sort through a whole bunch of water ski pictures. I took a lot of pictures this summer at shows, competitions, and ski practices that I've never taken the time to looked at... not even once. I took them and then got so busy with the next batch of water ski pictures and had to prioritize based on what I needed the pictures for.

Maybe post a "my favorite ski pictures of the year" thread at some point when I'm bored.

Re-do the switch panels on my 88 Prostar out of aluminum. I'll have a student CAD them up, then either cut them out on the CNC or maybe use black acrylic on the laser cutter.

We just bought a new home about 1/2 mile from the lake that has what looks like a horse stable, to the untrained eye, in the back. I know it is really a 1000 sqft shop/boat house that will be brought to life this winter! When it is finished I will not even have to unhook the boat from the truck.
