It should if it's coming off a newer MC. Your hole-shot will be greatly improved. I would guess that your X15 has an MCX which shouldn't have a 17" wheel on it IMO.

Hope this isn't a thread jack, but I'm a little curious about props too.

For example: The '91 ProStar I used to have, had a reduction/ power slot tranny which came w/ a 14x18. 18 (dia x pitch, right?)

The '71 (yes, I went older...) has 1:1 I believe, and has a 13x13

I doubt the 13x13 is original, unless the original owner knew his sh!t, but I'm curious about the dynamics. What does the increase in pitch give you?

I'm also curious to know what the '71 came with stock btw if anyone knows...

Thanks.

The manual that came with my '91PS states:

Propellor: 13x13 L.H. cupped
Transmission: 1 to 1 ratio

The 13X13, 3 blade cupped should have been standard/original for the 1:1.
Our '89 came with a OJ 13X13, 3 blade cupped, that I had polished and chromed and have a spare Federal/Michigan Wheel 13X13 cupped unfinished, a spare OJ 13X13, 4 blade cupped, polished and am running a OJ 13X13, 4 blade cupped, polished S/S now.

And to answer this question the 91PS optional powerslot tranny 1.5 to 1 came with a 14x18 cupped

This, from a prop manufacturer, may or may not help you:

Adding 1 inch of propeller pitch will reduce full-throttle RPM by 150 to 200. Subtracting 1 inch of propeller pitch will increase full-throttle RPM by 150 to 200. If you're moving from a 3-blade to a 4-blade propeller, a 4-blade generally turns 50 to 100 RPM less than a 3-blade propeller with the same pitch.

Pitch is the theoretical distance, in inches, that a propeller travels forward during one revolution. Think of pitch as speed. The higher the propeller pitch THAT the engine can turn, the faster the boat will usually go.

Sorry for the delay, was out of the office last week.

We do not make a 14.25 X 17. I do make a 14.75 X 17.5 for the 8.1's. I would guess you have a 13.7 X 17 if I assume , dangerous I know, that you have a MCX motor. If you do have the MCX and the main use of the boat is wakboarding, the 14.25 X 14.5 will work well. We also offer the 14.75 X 15.5 for the MCX motor. Give me a call if you have any other questions.
